Streaming revenue is really fucking low. In May my music was streamed about 75k times and I got paid just ~120€ for that. However, having popular tracks helps to score gigs. My last one paid 750€ + flight/hotel for 2 hours of playing.

Wow that's awesome. Since it's digital how do you "play" it live? Like, just use Ableton Live and some gear so you can play with it a little bit while it kinda runs on its own?

You actually get more. The current standard is 50% of streaming and sales revenue - expenses for promo and mastering and some contracts even run out after 3-5 years, meaning you get 100% after that. The problem is that soundcloud and spotify are paying fuck all while making billions.

Focus on making high quality music and regular uploads. I've put out 1 track per month for the past 2 years. Don't fall for scams that charge money or shill yourself too hard.

No, it's the opposite. Unlike other chains like SOL, matic positions themselves not as competition to eth, but as a supplement to eth, to help it scale. They are also developing key scaling tech for ethereum, such as the polygon zkEVM, built on zero knowledge proofs. DYOR.

No problem. As a side-note, I genuinely don't understand how you can listen to that crap. I went to some industrial techno shows while abroad, and it's literally just loud four-on-the-floor drums for hours. Also the crowds look like shit, and they're all drugged up and unkempt. I can understand tech house or deep house, but I refuse to believe that you can enjoy that industrial crap without being on ketamine or other crystalline drugs.

Gj anon, living the dream. Definitely invest, unless you're extremely talented and trend setting, you'll likely be out of a profitable job within a few years. As an older millennial, I have quite a few friends who had legitimate careers in music or entertainment that eventually fizzlee out and left them high and dry. They end up doing shit like teaching theater at the local community college, or teaching music, or working some hum drum corporate job that's adjacent to their former industry. They could have retired easily if they just funneled their money away but they blew it all and let literally millions slip through their hands and before they knew it, no one cared about their nu-metal/metal+rap hybrid/dubstep schtick.

Absolutely based OP, please keep us updated with finances, I'm sure the few independent dreaming poorfag music artists on /biz/ will appreciate the insight.

For bookings does it go through your label or your agent or you directly? How did the first gigs come about, did you have to negotiate for the price, where you paid anything upfront etc
