When a lot of on chain protocols made it in 1 year or less like SOL, DOT or BNB?

What is the "challenge" really?

Every change threatens the gravy train they got going. It's in their best interest to string everyone along for as long as possible with the same old powerpoint slides and empty promises. Only right before everyone moves on they have to act.

With regular staking your locked-up tokens are used as liquidity for automated crypto transactions.
With Chainlink staking your locked-up tokens serve as collateral for the performance of oracle nodes. There's nothing like it yet.

Okay, so basically LINK tokens have value because you will soon be able to stake them to earn more LINK tokens which are valuable because you can stake them to earn more LINK tokens which you can use to stake more LINK tokens. That is why the LINK token is valuable.

They’re waiting for the most opportune time to bring it live. Chainlink staking has probably been done for at least a full year by now, but market conditions weren’t right. The chainlink team is in no hurry to release staking. Why would they be? They already won the entire oracle market, they have no competition to worry about. The only thing that matters is that staking rolls out smoothly and free of hacks/loss of user funds
