Canned tomatoes have more flavour than fresh ones unless you are cooking it for a really long time. again a lot of europe already does obtain and supply their own, most of europe are bros with each other and things haven't changed one bit; the commie media has thrown out this weird narrative that all of europe depends on commie resources and will now crumble without it

reality is it's only really germany that fucked up when everyone for the longest time was telling them they were being retarded

I created an Asian, China focused, stock or crypto thread.

I want an Asia crypto bro to take over a thread for that area.

I am hoping to continue the Asian stock general thread. I don't want to create to many threads, but hoping to expand to multiple country stock and crypto threads as fit.

I am preferring a Chinese thread, but as noted it might take time to develop. So, any Asian country is invited until their own general is neccessary.

Clearly the market is going up, but will we reach a new ATH this year? At the end of the day, the fed funds rate is higher now than it was at the ATH, QT is occurring now unlike at the ATH, and company forecasts are lower now. Yet the S&P is unironically on pace to reach a new ATH in about 3 weeks time.

How far ahead does the market price things in? Are we pricing in interest rates going back to zero sometime within the next couple decades? For the first time in my fucking life, I was lucky enough to time the bottom. I want to know if I should realize my gains or not. This is pretty much my first major win, and if I lose it, I'm gonna want to kill myself

This is a Vestas V-150 Wind Turbine.
The Diameter of the Turbine is 150 m, its height is well in excess of 200 m.
Those are usually rated at 4 to 6 MW.
18 of the larger ones with a combined installed capacity of 112 MW are planned to be constructed in the Reinhardswald forest in Northern Hessen, Germany.
This 200 km^2 forest is the largest self contained forest of the state, on of the largest forest and least settled parts of Germany.

The large 6 MW V150 Windturbine will in its 25 year life produce a whole 0,3 TWh.
Grohnde is a record holder, in 4 out of its 37 years in operation it was the most productive reactor in the world and in its entire live it produced a whopping 407 TWh of electricity, being the only reactor that produced more than 400 TWh of electricity.
This is an arial shot of Grohnde, with such a turbine layed over it.
Actually it is a slightly smaller one, than those, which will be build in the Reinhardswald.
You need 1 200 Windmills of that type to replace one Grohnde.

in june jerome powell said that we had achieved the neutral rate
which is not only factually inaccurate (8%+ cooked inflation with 2-3% interest rates is not neutral lmao)
since then the market has priced in 3 interest rate hikes for 2023
the market believes that the Fed is solely jawboning about raising rates aggressively, that in reality they will be easing monetary policy and cutting rates 3 times next year
the jobs reports we have been getting have been very bullish, indicating that the economy is still very hot - at first this was seen as bearish, as it would mean the Fed would have to act more aggressively to tame inflation
Then we got the CPI and PPI numbers, which both showed a massive drop off in inflation - for example headline CPI went from 9.1 to 8.5
this leads the market to believe that we are getting the 'soft landing' - where the economy stays strong, and inflation comes down (which nobody thought was actually realistic)
However, the great majority of inflation coming down has been a result of gasoline, oil, natural gas, heating oil, etc energy commodities lowering in price
If they surge higher, the inflation will return - core CPI is remaining sticky
September data plus September Fed has the potential to radically alter the pricing in of interest rate cuts in 2023 - if inflation rises again

You can do whatever the fuck you want with your money. It's YOUR money. But if you're in here encouraging people to invest in China, which you are, I will actively discourage them to not listen to you and to not invest in China, as it's a SHIT country, and they will be throwing their money away

>Through what mechanism do rate hikes reduce inflation?
when interest rates are higher, the demand for good and services falls, if supply remains the same or increases while demand falls, prices fall
when the Fed raises rates, for example, the average monthly mortgage for a new home at these new higher rates jumped almost $1,000
When monthly payments go up by $1,000, less people buy homes, less loans are originated
When the bank make a loan, the money gets paid to someone else, which get deposited at a bank - the bank then loans out the money again, keeping fractional reserve, and so on with each step - with a 10% reserve requirement $1,000 deposited in a bank = $10,000 of money creation
if you have $10,000 money being created by banks over and over in a low interest environment, then you have more dollars chasing the same number of assets, so prices go up
People are less willing to take on debt with higher interest rates, so they become more price sensitive - they may choose to not buy XYZ because the price is too high
Eventually, sellers need to reduce their prices to get rid of their inventory / make sales
A decrease in demand as a result of higher interest rates, money costing more causes a reduction in inflation
>Anon why does the fed usually pivot?
I think the point you are making in this post is that for the Fed to pivot we would need to see a decrease in demand - we are starting to see it a little bit (look at new home construction / new & existing home sales) but not anywhere near enough to pivot

Do not conflate the two - smart money pricing in 3 cuts in 2023 is literally betting against the Fed

The fed brrrs and QEs at the first sign of a slowdown when we're in a terminal sub 2% inflation environment.
It's not the same now with inflation massively above their target, like 4-5 standard deviations.

This is 100% wrong, all evidence and everything the fed has said indicates they will pivot, probably within the next couple months. They are going to set interest rates back to zero, they literally have no reason to keep them any higher

>> No.50890389

Why is anyone still long tech crap?
What are cash incinerating growth stocks worth when the Fed decides to suck all the growth and liquidity out of the economy to fight inflation?

Probably not much. They have to find a way to get cashflow positive or die but a lot of them are VC ponzi scams that were never meant to be profitable.

>And btw the recent inflation numbers was just gasoline taking a nosedive, wages and rent still went up month over month. Refinery stocks are going right back up what does that tell you.

Unless there is some catastrophe where the US fails as a nation and the US dollar is no longer the global reserve currency, everything will continue to go up in the long term. And because of how the US has positioned itself globally, either by befriending or coercing or threatening, that is almost guaranteed to continue.

Good stuff anon, thx.
Where is your total case count coming from? I'm hearing wildly different numbers, just curious what made you pick a particular source to get your info from so I can piggy back on your work.
Also -- why calculate based on total cases rather than daily/weekly infections?
