This seems like the biggest sell the news event in the history of crypto, but nobody's calling it out yet. The merge date is set, all the testnet merges have been success, everyone knows it's going to go well. Is this not the time to be selling, now that full and final confirmation of the future bullish event has arrived? There is nothing left to do but wait for it to happen, so who else is buying? Surely if there was a time to sell the news it would be now, so why does the number just keep going up?

Merge is cancelled.

There's still a small chance of something going wrong.

it's not priced in because it hasn't happened yet. the merge will also significantly change the economic rules of the entire ecosystem while also opening the doors to investment opportunities that do not currently exist. Plus the bridges to real capital are just now being put into place

MEV and actual staking rewards are not fully priced in.

'pricing in' is literally the act of bringing the price impact of probable future events into the present though

>the merge will also significantly change the economic rules of the entire ecosystem while also opening the doors to investment opportunities that do not currently exist
yes and all this has been known for a long while and has no reason to be priced in yet

>>50876711
>MEV and actual staking rewards are not fully priced in
why not? why are the bullish things never priced in until they happen but all the bearish things are priced in years in advance?

you are literally trying to change the definition of 'priced in' and calling me the retard. Merge is the most anticipated most researched biggest hypiest news event in the history of eth. Explain to me how none of that is priced in when literally every other 'big announcement' in crypto follows a buy the rumor sell the news price pattern

As usual biz is full of retarded comments.
The honest answer is probably:
Of course it could be priced in, but given that this is an atypical event, do we have precedent to say that?
The closest analogy in the market is definitely bitcoin halving. For some reason bitcoin halving is ALSO never priced in.
I'd view this like a halving event.
No one knows, but that's the best guess.

its a triple halving.
if merge succeeds, eth 10k by xmas is inevitable and new price floor will be 7500, eth 20k by 2024.

You're looking at things the wrong way round. Price doesn't go up and down because of reasons. The justifications for the ups and downs are broadcast once the price action has been decided upon. If it has been decided that Eth will go up, then it will go up. Any explanation as to why is crafted post hoc.

the merge will be postponed but unlike most retards here think, this will cause a giga pump not a dump

this too, its going to gigapump no matter.

So eth from $2k to $800 wasn't because of massive forced liquidation cascades from ust/3ac/celsius blowing up?

That's wrong, it hasn't. In fact >99% of market participants won't ever realize the impact of the changes. That's why it's not priced in.

this.
whales surely know.
retail doesn't.
there will be a supply shock(hopefully) as eth becomes flat/deflationary.
