You can get a cash payout policy, or you can get a full replacement policy. The full replacement policy covers whatever you claim in the policy, so you need to make sure you go over it, and make sure it accurately describes your home. I don't do this myself, but there is a buisness of renting temp housing to professionals on buisness trips. What if the market is down when you want to move. Now you can't.
