Every month I save 2k for possible unforeseen events. I want to invest half the money I have saved. What do you suggest?

invest all of it in a GIC with a no-fee early withdrawl policy. that was if you don't need the emergency fund you make some guaranteed returns and if you do need it you can withdraw it from the GIC at no loss.
that's the sensible thing to do anyway.

that's all you're saving? Sad anon, work on being less poor and getting a better job first. I'd say invest in training for better job so you can be less poor

He's trolling.
I think the average US citizens struggles to save 25% of their paycheck. People pay rent, buy food, go out, have insurance payments, and other monthly subscriptions.
Some people also have families they have to provide for.
But yes, if you come from a well off family that doesn't need your money and can provide you with food and housing, then 2k is a reasonable goal.
