How the fuck do i become smarter? I have come to the conclusion that im not smart enough to make the amount of money i need to achieve my goals. I need to reach 9 digits at least to pursue the things i actually care about. I always think about how to make money and i dont know how im gonna manage to make that money.
Please can anyone help me how i can become smarter? I'm willing to do anything.

not my goal, but why is doing charity work a bad thing? some people have fucking awful situations and you can help that. I would do charity too but its not the reason i want to be rich.

it literally does, if you are smart enough you can make money easier, its a midwit trap to think being smart doesn't mean you can make money. People make this assumption because they see dumb people with money, there is a luck element but if you are very smart there's no luck needed, you'll get yourself into situations to make money regardless.

This thread reeks of cope. No one here will ever achieve a 9-figure net worth. At best, you can hit 8 figures if you earn six figures for 30+ years. Get used to being poor.

>> No.50840375

>>50840113
Well first you need to have like 8 digits to be able to live a top-tier life, be wherever you need when you want. Have no worries, easily satisfy your base desires. And i need more money because i want to fund research into things i care about like consciousness, its weird to me that theres not more interest in this. We literally can't explain it and people don't talk about it that often, why the fuck aren't rich people obsessing over this? Why aren't they trying to figure out what is going on and why we exist, at least start by explaining consciousness. There's a study called AWARE that is working on this, researching objectively what happens to people near death, and even they have funding problems. I would like to use money to find stuff out. I wish someone autist billionaire would be obsessed already but thats not the case.
I don't want a family so my path is very limited, i need to achieve things or else i will become depressed like the others here and kill myself.

Are you by chance under 18? If so, stop smoking pot and taking psychedelics for a decade.
It sounds like you're searching for meaning and you imagine that money will help you with that. It won't. Especially if you're concerned with satisfying vices.

What's there to figure out? Consciousness is just a type of brain activity. Some creatures can pass the mirror test and can literally "self-reflect" and others cannot. We know it's the brain because the brain damaged regularly lose this ability.

To answer your OP question, you become smarter through science. No, that doesn't mean reading other people's research, it means going out and having your own experiences and running your own tests. You can't expect to learn a damn thing fixating on the unknowable; instead find something that is unknown and then try to figure it out yourself.

An easy way to get your feet wet with is to modify existing cooking recipes. I noticed that people put cheese on chilli, and since that's a dairy product I wondered if a small amount of butter would make a taste difference. It's delicious. Fucking around and doing your own experiments will channel your curiosity into something useful and replicable, rather than literally dumping your mental energy into the unknowable void.

Metaphysical bullshit. Philosophically circuitous masturbation for 17th century geeks with too much time on their hands and no funding because their interests were stupid. Literally do >>50840557.

I'm well aware of the "hard problem" and it amounts to little more than "How can it just be physical when I FEEL like it's something more?" Or the even more asinine "Why does this stimuli make me feel hungry but not something else?"

If anything the arguments for qualia reaffirm exactly what I am telling you to do. Go out and have experiences so you can learn beyond the academic/physical. (Mary the color scientist).

You're not interested in being smart, you're interested in feeling smart. The more esoteric the bullshit the smarter it feels. Basically an academic substitute for spirituality. If you want real results (money) you need real understanding of the world and other people. You get that by going out and running your own experiments.

Study Buddhism anon

These questions have literally been answered thousands of years ago by people who decided not to give a fuck about society and research these kinds of things instead, of course they were mostly killed off by people who only studied technology to kill people but the knowledge they found has survived and is now freely available on the internet

Idk if the whole "trust the science" thing with covid didn't make it clear to you but "science" as such is a scam to get people to submit to bureaucracy. Science is a way of finding truth through experimentation, it is limited to physical, external reality, consciousness is internal and subjective and thus beyond the realm of science to explain beyond mapping out correlation of brain activity to different consciousness states.

When I say Buddhism I don't mean any religious bullshit, you're free to keep believing in atheism if you're particularly dull, simply study the Buddhist philosophy of the nature of consciousness and you will find your way to the answer

literally no point in talking with you, also never smoked pot or did psychedelics, and im not under 18. If you think the hard problem is just that then you never thought really deep about why you are actually conscious(if you are) according to your beliefs(materialism) we shouldn't even actually be conscious, we should pretty much just be robots.

>> No.50842695

>>50842447

And that's why you'll never be smart. The moment something challenges you or gives you a different idea you discard it for something that feels better.

If the quantum consciousness theories are true then you can have human consciousness that is non-deterministic. (And therefore not a robot). Those are still physical interpretations and are physically studied. It's nothing transcendental.

>> No.50842792

>>50842695
what is there to challenge me? there's no solution to the hard consciousness problem and you are the one saying "it amounts to little bro". Scientists literally cant map the areas of the brain in relation to certain things and were just supposed to be okay with it? I also agree with you on experiencing new things. It helps with perspective. I just dont understand how you can just say that its not a big problem and just trust the scientists bro, we can't solve the problem so its not a big problem, materialism is the truth bro. I wouldn't mind if we had a solution but when i studied more i came across 20 solutions everyone with their own theory.

Yes, the fundamental thesis is that there are things that can't be known and you should be ok with it. Instead you should focus on what can be known. That was my initial point here. >>50841678. In that same post I also explicitly say that you don't get there by reading their papers, you get there by running your own experiments and having your own experiences.

>20 people much smarter than me failed to find a unifying theory
>But if I could get 100 million dollars together I am sure I could make it happen.

I admire the moxie, but until you apply it to something material you won't get material results. They all came to different conclusions because it's all a bunch of lofty, masturbatory bullshit that's more interested in feeling novel than actually uncovering truth. It's basically 17th century hot take clickbait.

With enough money you could easily use it to fund and have more data, if we'd have a large database we could unironically prove if consciousness objectively exists after death.
We now have superior technology compared to the past and we can get objective proof.

Dude, we've had people come out of comas and complain about what was being played on the TV the whole time. People who were considered "brain dead" but came back and could recall information.

You're getting clickbaited by a spurious definition of "death". If your heart stops and can't be brought back you are "dead". Much like how a capacitor takes time to drain so too does the brain take some time to stop functioning once supply from the heart stops. You haven't proven anything about consciousness after "true death" just consciousness in the short window of time before the physical completely fails. People get "brought back" regularly; and as such they were not truly "dead".
