New discussion point. Anyone else want to try building half submerged greenhouses with hydroponics setups? Basically you dig a 6-7 foot deep trench in the ground, line it with rock/pavers/packed dirt to make a retaining wall, then cap it with a transparent roof. Because its submerged it has great temperature regulation and the plants wont freeze in the winter if you live in a mild climate. Seems really comfy to me, especially if you build the rest of your house attached to it and can just walk out of your basement into your own little year round eden.
