Like it or not, Monero is the largest project working toward the vision of the founding cypherpunks, whose ideas gave birth to crypto.

True, you probably won't get rich investing in Monero, and it will never "moon", but that's ok.
Monero is about the dream of virtual cash: payment resistant to corporate control and government censorship.

What if it gets sanctioned like tornado? How's the price going to work then?

Monero blockchain is not transparent, so *your* wallet cannot be blacklisted. They either ban it all or none.

It isn't a centralized service. You can make it illegal to accept it or use it, but they cannot kill it. And it is designed so the risk of getting caught using it is small.

That's what i mean. What if trading gets reduced to p2p. How's that going to look like? How do you determine the price of a single coin?

People used to say bitcoin would be banned because it offered anonymity and was used for illicit things. But it's still allowed to this day.

Likewise, monero won't be impossible to trace forever. And the fact that tornado cash was sanctioned just yesterday and not monero or any other "privacy" coin should tell you something.

>People used to say bitcoin would be banned because it offered anonymity and was used for illicit things. But it's still allowed to this day.
Problem is, Bitcoin was not really understood back then, it never offered anonymity since it's pseudonymous. It wasn't really known and criminals always take advantage of new tech. Now there's companies that their sole purpose is surveillance of public ledgers.
The dark net markets are adopting Monero because it is vastly superior (by default) at hiding illicit activities and economies.

>Likewise, monero won't be impossible to trace forever.
Monero constantly hardforks because of better technology and increased anonimity/privacy. Bitcoin never got hardforked to keep up with the competition, thus the change the superior choice. It is a cat and mouse game, and Monero is way ahead of any other. Bitcoin is now a cryptographic fossil, it has become stagnant. Monero keeps will always keep improving.

The only two ways you can completely shut down Monero is if you turn off the internet or stop the world from using CPUs. Does that seem reasonable? Fuck no, it's not going anywhere unless a better technology than blockchains arises.

Bitcoin is not anonymous though, that's the difference. Monero absolutely is anonymous, Tornado cash has anonymous properties. This should tell you something.

Because tornadocash is a centralized shitcoin/service that is easy to sanction, you can't do that with monero.

I buy it and hold it. I believe in the principles behind it. It’s not for investing or mooning bullshit it’s cash outside the oppressive international government regulations. Moonfags can get fucked. That being said hell if it moons good. Whatever. Reason I buy and hold? Remember Canadian truckers. Sams shit can happen anywhere. I stash monero on my private key for the same reason someone would pile up cash in a safe. Shit hits the fan? Grab cash from safe and bail out. Globohomo banks can’t do shit about it. Monero is like this but even better. All you need is your seed phrase. And you can grab your seed phrase and run. Perfect tool for when the world government collapses.

Monero has a federally funded general on /biz/ with professional shills. Stay there, you're trying too hard, and no one cares.
