Just wanted to give you guys the heads up here. Brandon's new bill just passed. All of the 80,000 new IRS agents that we are in process of hiring now will be assigned to crypto. They will come after and audit and fine anyone who traded over $600 in crypto but did not pay taxes on their gains. They are going back to 2016 till now (((they))) estimate they will collect $130 billion dollars in unpaid crypto taxes and fines. If you haven't paid the IRS, you better do it before October 14th because soon after they will sick the IRS dogs on you. Good luck

I paid all my taxes and I have (at least I think) a good accountant but i'm sure there going to be a pain in the ass and audit me anyways. Especially with a w2 and 1099 income.

>>50791037>There enough legal ways to not pay it's not about not payingif you bot or trade regularly the it costs $500 for the fucking software to file the taxes right. why would you spend $500 on software to report trades that are a net loss?you also get a free $5000 in cap gains every year or something that's totally tax free.
>>50791061Retards on here don't even know crypto can be wash traded. The IRS is only going to get middle class and poor idiots. The rich know the rules or know people that tell them how to play the game (like accountants). The crypto cash is going to wipe out hundreds of millions of taxes for the rich because they sell at a loss and the rebuy right away.
>>50791086yeah no shit just hold. Who fuck would trade unless you renounce your citizenship if you live in the USA or live overseas in other countries. Then it's tax free.
>>50791089if you made less than $5000 on crypto trades or whatever the free cap gains amount is i don't think you have anything to worry about. if you made 5 figures in crypto; in straight gains; and you didn't pay a tax lawyer to file for you or atleast use the software then you deserve your fate. pretty sure the vast majority of people investing in crypto though, even retarded whales, come out with net losses far more than net wins. this is why in bongland they make the exchanges publish their users winrates / PNL (which is always terrible 95% of traders loose)
>>50791048Im glad we agree on that
>>50788637>the government will efficiently deploy this infrastructure and come after all of ussure thing pal, I know how slow government IT workers are.
>>50791114i bot and make 1000 trades a day (atleast, if it's gridding then it could be 10,000); with a laughably low amount. that's 4 million trades over the course of the year. you would need a stack of paper ten feet high; i wonder how this even get's sent to the IRS. does the tax software digitally file 50,000 pages for you? (trading $100 for a net loss of 40%)
>>50791121theres so many ways for them structure holding companies and stuff around crypto. It's more then just net win/lose and only get the 5k. They going to write off shit loads of thing and impairment losses for their companies. Also just imagine you sat on spy for 5 years. It went up 2x. You sell and get your cap gains. Now crypto crashes. You sell at a loss the same amount you took in gains from spy and rebuy it. Now you owe 0 even though you just cashed out millions in spy
>>50791157Then you have to renounce your citizenship and move overseas. If your not profitable then why are you complaining about it? wait till you get good enough to be making enough money where it matters.
>>50791157They have automated software that tracks it and it's up to you prove to them that they are wrong. In other wards burden of proof is going to be on you which could fuck you if your bot trading friend. Thats what im saying its people like you going to get fucked. Better off just paying it if you get audited (i'm not a tax expert get an accounant)
>>50791217i don't even have records on a lot of this shit especially on BSC. it's all laughably low amounts, probably $100 total loss on shitcoins. like many i assume I had no idea what I was doing when I startedno joke though i'm paying much more attention to tracking. there are more products on the market now that integrate with all this crap i've gotta just pick one. i think kucoin won't even give you more than 3 months worth of trade data...if I can't get it; how the hell is the IRS going to get it?how do you even report in that case? if the exchange itself refuses to hand over the trade data to even you?

>>50791314No idea friend I've never been through an audit. I have an accountant for my stuff and pretty simple business. It's always recommend to talk to an accountant before you start making money. You plan out two years in advance so you get the tax advantages/paper work you need before you execute. Why not find an accountant that you consultant with when you need too? Just pay him for an hour of time when you have questions.
>>50791304yeah man it's going to suck for people. This is why the IRS has always been evil. Big fish/upper middle class give no fucks and don't cheat on their taxes/make mistakes. They get audited all the time as part of their business process and end up paying nothing or very little. It's the small business and self employed who are the "evil tax cheats" the left talks about because they don't have the money or business models to get the right accountants/tax break/credits etc. It's truly evil and very inefficient for the government.

>>50791496UhI'm not IRS. I hate the government.
>>50791478>yeah man it's going to suck for people. really though it's effect on the poor is minimalworst case scenario IRS comes down and says YOU THERE you owe 100% cap gains on all of your crypto purchases.>But I took a loss!>can't prove it, IRS says you still have (no cap gains then? and never sold)how do you prove you no longer have something? especially with retards who just loose their wallet keys with millions or forget their password. if you can never sell you can never be taxedif you just look at the fiat on/off ramp then you can judge based on that. >I bought X>I now have Yif X > Y; cap gains. worst case scenario I guess is if you get with with cap gains as if it's just straight X; your going to pay a flat 40% on everything you bought as if was straight profits. 40% of poorfag investment tier monies is still not a lot (I imagine most would be <$10,000, probably closer to $1000)so 40% of 10,000 is $4,000owing $4,000 to the IRS is the worst case scenario; which you can pay off over timemost people would get hit with <$1000 bills in a worse case scenario; and most people get more than that back in taxes, so these people just wouldn't get anything back on their returns that year. also remember you get a free $5000 or whatever cap gains tax free anyway. i still think this is mostly going to effect whales, if you made 5 figure gains and didn't file your taxes then your fucked and retarded. who makes $10,000 in profits and then think they just won't pay tax on that.
>>50788637the smart play here is to wait them out because in a year all the debt you own will have the buying power of "a small coffee at mcdonalds"seriously: if they like money that much, why don't they just print it? (oh wait, they do ...)

But you have to remember a lot of the middle class is living pay check to paycheck levered with stupid consumer debt and fancy houses. I bet a lot made 20k that will not get audited for a few years and then they will have stiff penalty and really be put into a bind. I had an aunt that was a vice president at bank of america ( I think thats a useless title the give it out like candy i've heard) and somehow she was paying the irs back taxes for 5 years. How does that happen as a w2 wagie?
>>50791529this seems to be the key point here under a worst case scenario>Every time I sent something out of the wallet and I cannot tie to a real sale, or an exchange for good (like a financial Report) is considered a sale. That taxable income is based on the cost basis--and these little sales will change every cost basis from 2016 to 2022. It screws up thousands of transactions. >Every time you get bitcoin or any other crypto coming into your account and you cannot account for the purchase, it is assumed that the income crypto is INCOME. And that is the cost of the unit for your cost basis.transfer (out) = saletransfer (in) = buy
>>50788888>t. doesn’t know what securities are
>>50791657>But you have to remember a lot of the middle class is living pay check to paycheck levered with stupid consumer debt and fancy houses.this is exactly the problemif your botting, your probably not using next-level tier shit you wrote yourself; your using exchange bots which generate thousands of trades and suck anyway. retail does this with small amounts. the majority of these situations are situations where you to pay FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS to file taxes on your ONE HUNDRED DOLLAR investment (which was a loss)
>>50791703if you have 4 million trades there are no cheap services. all the free crypto filing services have <100 <1000 <10,000 capsunlimited, which your going to need the moment you fire up your first bot, and your fucked. you should be able to file yourself, but how would you even start? and surely that's asking for an audit.

There are no crypto laws.
>>50791783and are rugs loss or theft?everytime i invest in a shitcoin should i call the cops and get a report done so I can file it on my taxes?should I call the police station 5 times a day? maybe we can set up a weekly meet up to discuss the 50 thefts I get every single week on BSC so I can get an official police report every single time. >>50791877you talk about rugs a lotare you a carpet salesman?
>>50791877Once this takes effect, I'm going to airdrop everyone on Polygon "Tax Bill Inu" which will have a pegged value of 1 million dollars. Since airdrops are taxable as income at the market value of when it was airdropped, every US wallet will be responsible for about 200-300k in taxes.
I sleep soundly every night knowing the IRS is taking everything from my peers, and soon they will come for me
>>50792091Same.
>>50788637Never sold Never paid
>>50791877If you don’t sell scams or rugs, you don’t have to pay taxes on them as you never made or sold anything. You can count them as a loss if you send them to a burn address.
>>50792370If you received a scam airdrop, it's counted as income for fair market value upon receipt whether you asked for it or not. One could make a token valued at $2m per because of the liquidity they supply (you can do this with just $1 if you do your math right) and airdrop you $2m tomorrow. Now you owe income tax on $2m of a token that's worth $0 but technically was $2m when it was sent to you.

i just spent the last 4 HOURS fucking with this after this thread. Coinledger is the only one that's reasonable price wise for unlimited trades... and it can't import kucoin, because it doesn't support margin / futures ( literally fails the import ). without the import EVERYTHING get's marked as income / short term cap gains, ALL TRANSFERS MULTIPLE TIMES$100 investment = $2000 in CAP GAINSKucoin doesn't support any of this tax software yet, it's all fucked. Is there an easier way to track? If I buy XLM or USDT on coinbase, and just send it to kucoin (mark it as a withdrawal for taxes).. and then just report all incomming from kucoin as income (100% cap gains), is this a legit way to do it?basically just don't report kucoin trades at all. $100 in XLM went from coinbase to a wallet (kucoin); no taxes here, it's a transfer if you have the records. >let's say it 2x'sSend $100 back from kucoin to coinbase to withdrawCan you just mark that transaction as income and pay cap gains on it?The problem is obviously when there's losses involved. If you file taxes by essentially just not filing anything behind kucoin, and paying cap gains on all kucoin -> coinbase... what happens if you loose?now the IRS thinks you never sold all that crypto when infact you lost it trading. WHAT THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO DO IF NONE OF THE TAX SOFTWARE SUPPORTS THE FUCKING EXCHANGEnone of this software cleanly supports DEFI either. I tried importing my XLM wallet and oh fucking now; you gonna have to type in every transaction by hand.

He needs money for his cancer cure moonshot and to lend lease Ukraine a few stealth aircraft to fuck over Russia royally. This dude has mega meme energy and just wrecked up a month of solid massive wins.He is so not fucking around.

It is ass backwards, because the unwritten conclusion of that sort of info is "wow I guess I'm a terrorist for buying anything with cash" The centralized banks lose when.>A teenager is paid in cash,>People count debts using meme coins,>Things are bartered (you and a friend share a car for a few days/neighbor gives you tomatoes or something)>a wagie doesn't use the app to pay>landlord offers rent credit to their tenants for some reason. >some retard pays 50 bucks for a pregrinded gamer account. All of these things are potential places a terrorist could extract value, the only way to prevent it according to the RAND writers (globohomo central) is to put it all on a centralized system where the entire economy can be monitored. This is the system that has been being built for at least a century. It is really funny to watch it balkanize at the slightest provocation. You can look up "why didn't the bank endorse my check" for some laughs, but being completely honest. I have zero clue how people are not expected to turn immediately to illegal/bootleg/dubious ways to use technology when they can't trust the institutions they have come to trust. Be it boomer banking or crypto. Economists ought to know people vote with their wallet, it must just be that normies don't care enough. But there is clearly normie demand for more stable and more tangible currency, there is clearly Goverment demand to destroy genuine value measurement .It is comedic and scary to watch the powers that be seethe and lash out at every realization that their money is worthless. That's better than jailing them where they become a net negative.
>>50828526Thinking about this a bit more, you have a solid point. They don't actually need my taxes to fund any of their projects, at least at the federal level. They just print more fiat. If we had a money that was not capable of being debased, taxes would serve a purpose.
