The hot take that rich people live off of passive capital income, not active income earned at a fucking 9-5 job? How do you not understand that you fucking moron?

Do you think "the rich" end at doctors and lawyers or are you capable of understanding me communicating to you that there are many other strata of rich above them who have the influence and means to not pay any of those income taxes?

The story that plays out time and time and time again is that the media (i.e. plaything organizations for the rich) convinces you that a tax will actually be levied against rich people and then inevitably passes down to you. At some point you end up with 40-50% total taxes on everything you make and don't even realize how you got there. By stupidity, ignorance, and an inability to discern lies from truth.

100 years ago people were rioting over the introduction of a 1% income tax, and now you've accepted and normalized utter tax slavery.

>> No.50802801

>>50802151

I'm saying you're entirely off base and buying right into their narrative. That the current rates "aren't high enough." Not that the entire system is a fucked up grift scheme imposed on people who actually work, on behalf of people who don't.

Income taxes, in concept, are a fucking joke. Think about it, they're taxes on your work, and they were created so that businessmen wouldn't have to pay taxes on imports/exports. That's insane in an objective sense and it took two world wars to trick us into accepting the latter.

Fast forward to today, the issue isn't that rates aren't high enough, it's that the code is structured to allow the actual rich to hardly pay anything at all while the working class, including the "working rich" professional class that you vilify, do.

What needs to happen is a significant simplification of the tax code and a significant reduction in income tax rates across the board. Corporate taxes operate in a similar vein in that the biggest companies don't pay them (creative accounting and powerful lobbying), small businesses do. When you hear "tax raises" just translate it to "tax raises for everyone who can't lobby, offshore, deduct, or credit their way out of it."

https://www.treasury.gov/tigta/auditreports/2022reports/202240036fr.pdf

>Since reopening its Tax Processing Centers in June 2020, the IRS continues to have a significant backlog of paper-filed individual and business tax returns that remain unprocessed. Income tax was actually introduced in the US to give the government a new means of income so that the prohibitionists could pass a constitutional amendment banning the consumption of alcohol (taxing alcohol production had been a central source of income for the government since the whiskey rebellion), but you are correct otherwise.

Funny enough though prohibition is gone, the amendment repealed from the constitution even, yet the income tax remains. Typical.

it's probably about the PPP loans, which were all fraudulent. I know, i worked for clients to get their PPP loans forgiven, i saw what they applied them towards. entitled boomers using bailout money gibs from the taxpayer to buy themselves trinkets and vacations. meanwhile they refuse to wipe out student loan debt.

my god i want every small business that took PPP loans out to pay it all the fuck back with 8% interest, compounding. small business boomers deserve a holocaust. I should apply with the IRS, I want to be the one putting the gun to the head of der boomer. these arrogant fat slobs need to pay up. I want them to lose everything, i want boomers living in tents on the sidewalk and digging for food out of trash cans. i want the state to seize the assets of every boomer in existence. my political stance is "fuck boomers" and I don't care about anything else. I want these pigs to suffer and die in agony. I want them to lose everything.

Anon, the way the IRS works is, if they think you owe anything, they assume the utmost possible maximum, tack on a daily compounding penalty, and then tell you to prove otherwise.

t. someone who got slapped with a $15,000 bill from the IRS when I ultimately only owed them like $300 in taxes.

A loophole is an ambiguity in the law that is exploited evade the law. Their is nothing ambiguous or unclear about SALT deductions.

>I'm saying you can't just use "Oh well we/they can extend it later" as an excuse to make them temporary when you purposely made other provisions that didn't benefit the middle class permanent.
but you can though, there's literally no reason why you can't. Democrats crying about how the tax cut doesn't count because it is temporary, have no ground to stand on if they won't renew the tax. Even if the tax cut is temporary, it's still a tax cut I would never have gotten in the first place from Democrats who clearly think my taxes should be higher as evidenced by the fact that they'll happily let the tax cut expire.

Let's make this clear.
I don't care that people richer than me got a permanent tax cut.
I do care though that Democrats don't think I should get a tax cut in the first place.

An estimated 36 million people own crypto in America. That's much more feasible. Considering the sheer stupidity of the average crypto trader, they're highly likely to find scores of people who didn't report earnings. These people will also be the least capable of defending themselves in court, which has always been the priority target for the IRS. Gotta have good return on the tax dollars spent and all.

You're the clueless one here. The IRS has a long-standing history of going after Joe Diddlefuck for his "erroneously" filed return on his 37k salary over pursuing larger companies committing blatant fraud and evasions simply because Joe can't tie up the IRS's limited funds with a legal team. Damn right Joe pays when he gets his letter in the mail, because the IRS is actually watching Joe and willing to fuck his shit up if he doesn't comply. Between the increase in staff and the sizable ammo purchase, they are clearly planning to do a lot of something to the average Joe where they're expecting a lot of non-compliance.

Then all you are doing is generating civil unrest over some poorfag's home assuming he isn't even renting, and worst of all, if you confiscate his house, that's a bubbled asset the government is already balls deep in. So in the end, they aren't even making any meaningful money. If the whole idea is "let's just mess with people because we can", people will just leave the country. It's incredibly vicious how the (((government))) baited all the boomers with free cash to then skullfuck them to death few years down the line, knowing well in advance how this would get abused by both the big and small fishes, but then only blame/go after the small fishes. 100% they will blame the financial collapse on boomer Joe who took a covid aid check too much.

>but then only blame/go after the small fishes.
As part of a college paper I had to research the passage of the 16th amendment (the amendment that made income tax legal). The way they sold that shit to the public was that it was only ever going to be applied to the extremely wealthy. Within a year of its passage it was being applied to even the poorest American. The slippery-slope fallacy is not a fallacy, and if you give the government the ability to do something they will use it to further their own goals, not what was originally intended with the granting of the power. It's sad how far the American public has fallen in regards to trust in government. We went from a nation where 80% of the populace would go apeshit if the government started talking about taxing something, to a nation where we don't even give a fuck that our representatives GIVE failing corporations hundreds of billions of dollars because they are "too big to fail." Boomers, kikes, and immigrants have done our nation in, and I'm fairly certain the sickness is terminal.
