>capitalism incentivizes efficiency
how is it efficiency to have dozens of pharmaceutical companies working in secrecy and in competition with one another to develop the same drug e.g. alzheimer's medication? wouldn't it be far, far more efficiency (in terms of time and capital) if they all shared knowledge and resources?

i'm not really sure where i'm going with this. is it the fault of capitalism, or is the concept of intellectual property incompatible with efficient capitalism? if you cope by saying "well they actually mean business efficiency and not aggregate industry efficiency" then why should i care?

yeah it's unreal how many people allow themselves to be bankrupt by big pharma jews who price gouge insulin. but that's not really the scope of this thread, i suppose.

pretty spooky statement my guy.

what you're asking is why don't we all just cooperate to solve problems, right? why do you think human behavior naturally gravitates toward the paradigm we have now? how do you propose correcting that behavior in a meaningful and lasting way? don't worry too much, we're moving in the direction that will fix it. but you're limiting your thinking when you reduce the situation to spooks like capitalism, incentives, and efficiency

well look at defense spending US vs Russia. Sometimes state companies are more efficient.

i think you're on to something with these concepts being spooks and memes. i can almost forgive competition between hostile nations, as stupid as nationalism is, but competition within nations seems unforgivably stupid and a glaring example of misallocation of capital and effort.
