I’m thinking about buying a ledger to store my btc, any of my fellow chaps use one??

>> No.50713395

yea, buy X if you want to store more than 1 coin, its memory size is horrendous

Imagine having a hw wallet and never been 100% sure it is not compromised by any middle man till you receive it.
Paper wallet and open source linux client is safer and for free.

X only if you really need to use it on your phone with bluetooth, otherwise S Plus. Many consider the bluetooth feature increases attack surface.

>100% sure it is not compromised by any middle man
The firmware can't be tampered with because of attestations:
https://www.ledger.com/how-to-protect-hardware-wallets-against-tampering
The only form of 3rd party tampering is a premade seed paper that's only effective to the most unaware users. And it's very unlikely to happen if you buy from a reputable seller.
>Paper wallet and open source linux client is safer and for free.
True, but a ledger is much more user friendly. And you still need a separate PC for this airgapped linux.

The S plus doesn't have this problem. The X has bluetooth which is just bloat.

I just keep my coins on coinbase lmao

I just bought one the other day. It hasn't arrived yet though.

They're great, but only buy it from Ledger. Even Amazon aren't immune to tampered devices.

>> No.50714479

Yes they're good anon. buy from the source. Imagine losing my bag of bit now that bitDAO's zkDAO proposal went through. I'd literally kms.
