I need some advice. I was at the bus station and some guy who looked poor and raggedy(this is a bus station in america) comes up to me and asks if I can cash a check. He doesn’t have his ID and he needs to be in the next town over by tomorrow as his kids are going to be born. He says he’ll give me $20 and I say okay as I don’t mind. Well he deposits $3500 into my account HOWEVER the receipt says it will not be available till tomorrow. He says we’ll have to meet tomorrow and I say okay and he asks for my number and I thankfully have a burner app already on my phone so I give him a fake number and he calls me then and there to make sure and it goes through. Well now I’m home and I’m thinking what if I ghost this guy? I really need the money and he can’t find me with just my name. Should I do this? It’s fucked up but man my life is so shit right now especially financially. Also could he have me arrested? Nothing was ever put into writing but I suppose there is a paper trail as it was his check that was put into my account. And yes I know this is nigger behavior.

Here's how this scam works
>Money is stolen
>Money is given to idiot (you)
>Money is last shown being in your account
>Money is converted to cash/bitcoin/etc from your bank account
>Scammer takes the newly "clean" money back
>Bank comes knocking on your door a few weeks later, demanding repayment resulting in extreme loss of savings/overdraft/etc
Unlikely you met him at a bus station. On the off chance this is a legit desperate person, you should be ashamed for genuinely wanting to do this. We all have passing thoughts of sin, and that's all they should be; passing thoughts. If being a bad person isn't enough for you, you would definitely go to jail for this. You really got yourself into a retarded situation. I can't imagine the kind of person that lets someone random, shoddy looking stranger dump 4 grand into their account no questions asked.

is it illegal to cash someone elses cheque? i have no idea. if not i would go to the bank and explain the situation honestly and ask for advice.

i got scammed by an atm once that stole some of my money and i explained it to the bank. they said they would investigate and try and get my money back. i told them i needed the money now for rent, so they just gave me the money back then and there. and that was the last i ever heard of it.

>I would like details. Did you really meet this guy at a bus station?

Yes, why would I lie about this part? This is 4chan, I’m completely anonymous and plus I need the advice.

>Was it really a cheque, it was a check.

>Does he want to be paid in bitcoin, cash, or a transfer to his account?

He wants cash, I’ll pick him up tomorrow at 8am and we go to an atm however he did say he was willing to do cashapp.

>Who the FUCK is this clown?

Some late 20s looking mexican.

>Why did you agree to do this?

I fucking thought it was like $80 he needed I didn’t know the amount until after the screen said it and by then he already was clicking OK for the receipt(which I kept, pic related)

You have my attention.

There is one part that I did leave out because if this guy scams me or the check bounces I will look like an even bigger retard than I already do.

I had $1100 in my bank account already, so I gave him that and said tomorrow I’ll just deduct from the $3500.

So I suppose my best option is to call the bank confess my foolishness and then the bank will not deposit the money and I will have $0 in my checking account which I deserve for being a retarded faggot. But what if the guy is legit? Then at the very least neither of us lose any significant amounts of money.

Pic related shows $1105 as the available balance(my actual hard earned money) and then it shows $3600(his money)

I would tell the man to give you back your money or your going to the popos and that the bank flagged the check or something like that unless you think he’s gonna murrk you- It costs like 5$ to cash a check at those check into cash places why tf would he need you other than to make you the fall guy. Worst case scenario your out your grand, I’d put the 3500 in a savings account and let the bank manager know what happened they will charge it back when the check is proven fraudulent and slap you around. Maybe the popos can get the atm footage to id the guy but no doubt he’s fucking u good luck op.

Bank fraud is a serious crime. They will close your account after taking what is theirs. Then they will report this to the FBI and credit bureaus. They will then gangstalk you for at minimum 10 years. They will shit in your pillow at night. The bank will literally hire women to fake interest in you. You fucked up big time bucko.
