The end result of this split will be that there are 4x more shares. Whether they call it a "dividend" or a split, there is no difference. The value of the company is unchanged. Your ownership % is unchanged. Outstanding % of shares short is unchanged. There's a specific point in time where the "split" happens and the 4x more shares become tradable and the share price typically declines by 75% in compensation. That point in time has already been passed. That's all that really matters.
If you previously held 1 share via direct registration (in some vain attempt to manufacture a repeat short squeeze despite fairly low short interest because you missed the actual squeeze last year), now you'll hold 4 shares in direct registration - again, the % of the total outstanding is unchanged. Shorts that were short 1 shares are now short 4 shares - but that makes up the same % of the company, and the willing counterparties now hold 4 shares to lend them, instead of 1. Again, no real change.
