Looks like they're trying to go for similar specs to the Krugerrand.
Interesting how there's no denomination on it. I guess they can't really put one on there since they use USD almost exclusively.
It's a bit ironic to see that they're selling these as an attempt to get more foreign money into the country, but I suppose if they tried to use some gold-backed system, their dictator would get Ghaddafi'd pretty quick.

The 100 Corona is 0.98 ozt. and has a diameter of 37 mm (just a 1.1 mm smaller than a Silver Dollar). It's also really low premium due to the fact that there's no demand for them, but they do have a really nice design.

Wieners have the same diameter as kronen and pesos .. but 100%gold will be a little soft of you end up dropping it, and the edges are sharp and uncomfortable to play with.
The 100 kronen feels nice, if you're OK with a heavier, thicker coin, the 50 pesos is also a really good one to hold in the hand.

2. How does everyone feel about numismatics?

3. Hypothetically speaking, if silver were to x8 as it did when the Hunt brothers got involved. How difficult is it to sell the silver? Can you even sell it at all? Who would buy silver after it x8? Seems to me you'd be stuck with it as no one is stupid enough to buy it in these circumstances.

This should not be worrisome for several reasons. First of all, you have no idea what happened in this case and so it may be a "one off". Second, whatever happened in this case happens so rarely that it is essentially zero risk when you buy from a reliable vendor. Third, the buyer (assuming he isn't the perp) was easily able to distinguish the bar from real gold.

This is most certainly not a one off thing. Counterfeiting is not a part-time job or a one-time contract. It's a full-time job and there are most certainly more fake bars out there than you can imagine. But most people don't test their stuff and I imagine some don't even take them out of their boxes. If you read the article carefully, it goes to say that the Mint had previously an insider that stole golden nuggets, about $160k worth of them and the Mint never became aware of it. It's actually a bank teller than sounded the alarm. This guy was stealing from the inventory like no tomorrow. This means no one was actually checking the inventory.

Old coins are already overvalued based on objective valuations like # issued, where it was minted, condition, assessed and slabbed, or whatever else. So my hope is the coins I get now will eventually rise in numismatic value, and I'll let the buyer ooh and aah and overpay for the coin.

>3. if silver were to x8
Good question. In the case of the Hunt Bros, it was an artificial pump. I would sell. I would think everyone would sell. Such a pump would be temporary - until they run out of money or interest. But would bullion dealers still buy? I don't know. In the case of a pump being because industry has the need, that would be different - much more reliable, and I'd bet dealers would be more willing to buy at those prices.

>4. office boxes?
No. I live in a great neighborhood. Houses are 3m apart, we all know each other. If asked, we'll take in and keep safe each others' mail and papers and packages when they go on vacation, take care of each others' pets, water gardens, have block parties...

>If the package requires a signature and I'm not there, where does the package go?
Here (US), they *should*: try to deliver three times, leaving a note each time. Then it goes to the branch post office and the carrier should leave a note saying so. They'll hold it until I pick it up. But since March 2020, I've been telecommuting and I'm always home.

What you're saying is your opinion and theory. None of it has ANY place in reality, as you have no evidence of any continued delinquency.
Why are you targeting RCM? Are you actually trying to say that the US mint has NEVER been stolen from? How would they know, and how would you know?
Do you even own PMs, m8? Seems like you have an ulterior motive to FUDing certain mints.
Like I said, buying from the US mint as a Canadian, is stupid. The premiums are too high, you literally pay tax on both sides; as well as customs charges. Like, have you fucking lost it???

>Seems like you have an ulterior motive to FUDing certain mints.
No motives, I want to start stacking but I have no idea where to begin with. I don't want to get scammed. 1 oz of gold is 2 weeks salary. Nothing to sneeze at in the current macro economical conditions. Just want to find a reputable dealer that won't attempt to shortchange me. Also, why the fuck isn't the RCM selling bullion directly? And I agree that as a canadian it makes no sense purchasing from foreign sources for customs charges.

No. I trust my dealers. I did get foolishly scammed once on an ebay purchase, but it was cheap (too cheap - "Warning, Will Robinson!"), so no big loss. My own fault - I should have checked it much earlier, but I got lazy. I'm sure I could have gotten it resolved had I done something in time.

>Or do you trust your dealer?
I do. Dealers rely in very large part on reputation. Imagine how many buyers they'd lose it word got out they sell fake shit.

>Is it worth testing silver?
Depends where you buy it, how much of it, what the price was, how sketchy the seller, and how involved and reliable the testing. For me, that usually means no.

Counterfeiters usually stick to generic pieces (not a constant). So a possible way to avoid this potentially happening to you, is to buy government minted coins; Maple in Canada, Britannia in UK, Eagle in US.
Also, there is nothing wrong with asking your local bullion dealer to test it for you, or to test a piece you're buying from them.

>>50665207
Fair enough.
You can purchase for VERY reasonable prices and premiums from TD Precious Metals: https://preciousmetals.td.com/shop/en/tdmetals I have done this for a reasonable amount of my PMs.
SIlverGoldBull is also a good source for purchasing. Prices between the two will vary, and sometimes TD is better.
They do sell certain pieces to the public at https://www.mint.ca/en No idea why they don't sell everything else.

Dubs checked this time.
Also, I avoid buying ho-hum generic or routinely minted coins. These are the one that get counterfeited. If you buy limited-run items, the counterfeiters don't have time to create fakes that look real, and if they made them in quantity they'd be quickly found out. The idea is to dilute a market so they go by inconspicuously. The counterfeiters have enough mass-produced designs to choose from that the little shits are ignored.

For numismatics, I'll happily buy coins the next rung up from generic. Pic related. It was costly, but it was a first of the series (always a good bet), but only by 10% (for gold, that's a lot of bucks). The coin you're showing is easily twice or more (depending on when you got that).

Comex is bleeding 200Koz on every week day as of late. Currently, 59Moz are remaining in the vaults as registered. So if we continue on this trend, 295 week days -or 59 weeks- will be needed to empty it totally, which would land us in early september of next year.... Not really quite there fren.
By EOY the comex should still have around 46Moz left in registered.
Still a pretty damn big drop from the 150Moz they had back in Jan. 2021 when the "silver squeeze" meme started.

But this is only projections, it could very well accelerate toward the end, as different entities are smelling blood in the water and want to withdraw physical. Or the opposite could happen too, with the comex changing the rules and forbidding withdrawals.

The masks will drop and nobody beside few kike magazines will act surprised.
Just like when the short squeeze on nickel happened with LME, they will drop the false pretense (i.e the interconnection between the world of finance and the real economy) and completely embrace the fact 2 different currencies already exist : one of the parasites, in a closed loop of endless fake dollars creating more fake dollars - totally disconnected -, and the real economy, where only a tiny fraction of the currency in existence can be used to purchase goods.
The equilibrium between the two can only exist as long as the parasite money don't abuse their leverage, thus only use a minuscule portion of their liquidity to parasite the real economy.

As the situation worsen, the parasite money will be seen more and more as taking an unbearable toll on the real economy, and eventually a clear separation will be required. That is when a distinction will become a matter of survival for civilization : the real economy's money will have to be backed by a commodity to be determined as legitimate, contrary to the parasite money.

We are almost there.

Sorry, nothing bad to say 'bout it fren, beside for one thing : the silver shots in your vial. Silver shots are a retarded meme, it's quite impossible to unload at a decent price as it lacks the main features of money as when casted in coins (standardized weight, easy recognition,...). I bought my first Valcambi kilo because it happened to be the cheapest kilo out there when I was looking to buy a kilo. I bought the other three (and ordered another today) because of autism and my need to fill my cigar box with five (5) of the same kind of bar. Next on the list is 5 x 20 ouncers from Jersey Mint and 10 x 10oz Asahi bars. Then I feel I can start purchasing gold.

I think the tolerances for COMEX allow for bars to be something like 5% underweight or have a minimum of 95% purity currently. If they're strapped for Bullion, they'll probably loosen them to 10% and further to the point where COMEX bars will contain some token amount of Silver while most of the transaction is settled in cash. I'm not sure how long they could get away with this sort of debasement, but it'll probably go on for a clownishly long period of time before they admit to not having any Silver.

The US is in a recession right now so there will be less silver demand through electronics and green investments (solar panels). If silver mining remains largely the same COMEX might be starting to recover silver.

Another issue is that as stackers are losing their jobs due to the recessions they'll be selling their silver to survive another day (this has already been happening to a smaller extent which caused second hand silver to be more common in my local area) and this would result in stackers that are still buying to buy the second hand silver since its cheaper than newly minted coins. This again reduces demand of COMEX silver and gives them more time to rebuild their reserves.

We still have a long way to go and the fight will get increasingly difficult.

You’re referring to rounds. They aren’t issued by a government and are not legal tender. Not all “generic” is bad. But the kind shilled on here like silvertowne buffalos or asahi rounds are absolute shit. Most coins have a lot of fine detail and often have security features that make them difficult to impossible to counterfeit. They are also very recognizable and liquid. It’s ok to have some cheap generic rounds but they should not be the bulk of your stack. If you want to bring down your cost average, buy 10oz or kilo bars to add into you stack of maples, eagles, krugs, Roos, Brits etc. Large bars actually have low premiums. 1 oz rounds don’t really save you much. So little that you should almost always pass them up unless there is some sort of ridiculous sale.

"Tin" cans, or more accurately "tinned" cans, are steel and back in the day were plated on the inside and soldered with tin to prevent the contents from destroying the steel. Tin is soft, bendy, nonmagnetic and melts at under 500 Fahrenheit so is easy to identify. Go buy some scrap pewter for tin to make your bronze with.

It depends on what you think the future will bring. If you are prepping for a total collapse, then 1 oz coins are best as this will be the new money. If you’re just investing and looking to sell one day, then 10oz+ bars are the way to go. There is no ideal ratio. Just have lots of everything.
