There are many stocks and reits right know, specially non-us ones, that can safely offer 7%+ divs a year, with growing revenues at/above inflation. I can live a good life with $1.5-$2.5k. So I fomo’d in 2017 when btc was very expensive at $2k and bought 100 for $200k with my whole life savings. I never traded or sold and feel like I should have made at least 300 bitcoins from that stash if I had learned how to trade but I didn’t want to pay taxes so I just held. Everyone lied and my bag did not reach $1000 million by 2020, it’s nearly 2023 and you guys are even refusing to pay $100k for BTC let alone $1 million. A lot of 2017 fomo investors like me want to get out and you guys have to start paying at least $100k for btc soon. Yes it’s not the $1 million like we were told but we will settle for $100k to get back to real money and feel safer having it all in a real bank so we can buy things with the cash like houses, land, stock market shares etc.

I made $2.6M clear of taxes and still feel like it isn't enough. I'm drawing maybe $60k a year on expenses and I consider that a lavish upper middle class lifestyle. The thing about making it via crypto or other investments is that you effectively have to be a gambling addict, and/or give yourself a gambling addiction to really pay close enough attention and make the moves you need to make to get rich. But even after you get rich the gambling addiction remains, and it's likely that you yeeted a ton of other shit out of your personality to make room for that addiction. So you end up sitting on a pile of cash with no interests or hobbies, and in fact the things you used to remember enjoying no longer do anything for you, all that's left is the urge to keep risking your money for another payday, again and again, even though you should be in capital preservation mode at this point.
