Why can't Intel just say their 2024 hardware is going to be better than AMD's 2019 hardware anymore? It's worked up to now. What changed? I'm having trouble accepting the "consumers are becoming more resistant to propaganda" angle because historically that never happens.
I was going to ask /g/ but they only want to talk about ThinkPads and anime.

Because X86 is on the decline. Intel and AMD both hedged all their bets on this platform. It's a platform that sucks because it is made for marketing gimmicks instead of utility.
Risc or mostly ARM processors are our only future.

RISC-V is the future.
Sure, ARM is better for computers than all previous x86, but Ryzen 6000/7000 is shockingly competitive. You can have ultrabooks with 10hr battery life and roughly 1050ti performance now while staying cool as a cucumber.
AMD is, against all odds, making it work. At least in my opinion.

Intel was so far ahead of everyone else in the early 2010s they started putting engineering on the chopping block while spending like crazy in marketing, and was at the time also helmed by a CEO who came from the fucking marketing department. This has been catastrophic for Intel over the years and they're now in the position of having to play catch up as their R&D is now behind it's competitors. They rested on their lorals of "We're the best, why invest?" for a decade. Its only in the past 3-4 years that they've began their corse correction but it will take another fucking decade or so before the issue is fixed and that lost inertia will place them well behind Nvidia and AMD assuming they don't do something retarded on their ends.

TL;DR 2 retard short term stock price focused CEOs ruined everything

I’d say 90% of shit out there can be compiled to ARM. That said, that 10% is probably the things that are most useful. Adobe took like a year to optimize their apps for AS, for example.

And there’s transpilers like Rosetta 2 which work really well for most application.

Just accepted it /g/yard. Apple Silicon is dominating to the point journos are not even including them in benchmarks because of how they crush x86-64 machines.
