What is the point of buying silver? I can buy about €300 of silver atm at an actual price of €395, a combined premium + VAT of 34%. I could also buy a gold coin for €354, which is actually worth €337, a 5% premium. This recent surge in silver price is just silver matching the market surge after the fed announcement. The surge is, of course, temporary and the market will sell off again in a few days and silver will go lower.
