Of course I don't know for sure. But it stands to reason. If they are going to issue a currency that other countries will trust to remain stable so it can be used in trade and as a reserve, they will need to do something other than just combine all of their shit currencies into one shit currency. Some of them have some commodities that have value, but the only one they all have in common - and the one that has thousands of years of history as money - is gold.

There are other signs as well. Most of the world's central banks have been stacking gold voraciously. Why? Because they know the remonetization is coming.

Russia specifying payment in gold for gas, the US and its puppets making Russian gold sales illegal when they aren't any, and the new Indian bullion exchange are just more evidence.

Additionally, China has stopped buying US bonds and is instead using its dollar reserves to buy hard assets like farmland in addition to gold, which it already produces in abundance internally.

>Ancient people didn't even differentiate them and traded coins made out of both, a metal called electrum.
I wonder why they stopped.
Electrum seems to be a great way for a standard without the problems bimetallism brings.
Say 1 dollar = 40 grams of silver + 1 gram of gold.
This way you dont equate gold to be x amount of silver by law.

Do they suddenly find alot of silver?
The dollar retains value well because of its gold content, do the suddenly find a lot of gold? Vice versa.

Thanks to the large silver to gold ratio you would also be able to mint relatively small coinage.
1 gram of this would today be valued less than 2 dollars.
