>How do you people find $10 ounces in sterling on eBay?

Just got a batch delivered today that cost $3.38/ozt of pure silver. That takes more knowledge and technique, like searching "sterling" in descriptions in weird or superficially unlikely categories, like silverplate. If it has 20 watchers, was easy to find and has "sterling" in the title you probably ain't getting a good deal, simple as. It's still pretty easy for a noob to get scrap under spot though, this fresh batch for example has a $150 melt value (at $18.72) and they accept offers, probably want a quick sale and might accept $100 or less instead of the $110 they're asking.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/225090072200

Lurking that general category looking for fresh listings might yield good deals too BTW:

He lies about his cost and time spent. The only proof he ever provided was an image of an eBay purchase for some spoons. He’s an attention seeking fag. Those bars he has refined will have to be cut open and extensively tested to be sold. I’m sure as shit not buying some guys refined bars for more than 80% spot. I’ll have to drill a dozen holes in that shit. Stacking sterling is a waste of time when silver is already ridiculously cheap.

Highly likely unfortunately, moreso due to ignorance than semitic intent but lots of boomers mistake silverplate for sterling and have no idea what the markings on anything means, this is why studying the pictures yourself instead of trusting anything some random boomer says is incredibly important. If you see something interesting you should be willing to ask the sellers to confirm that the pieces are indeed stamped "STERLING" or ask about how many pieces are marked Sterling. I've passed on questionable/ambiguous cheap batches that I later learned were full of sterling, for example when the sellers end a bulk batch that isn't selling then parcel out and re-list multiple smaller lots where with new pics it becomes clear how good they actually were.

Good on ya anon, for a chance at the absolute cheapest of cheapies you should monitor your area on www.estatesales.net for estates of dead vaxxioid boomers coming up for sale. Get there a few minutes before opening on the first day and beeline to the jewelry and/or kitchen and tableware areas for karat gold and sterling stuff. My lowest price for sterling was about 12 cents per troy ounce at an estate sale, hard to go wrong with stuff like that. eBay if full of competition but if an estate has sterling and you get there at opening you'll have an excellent chance at getting a big fat pile of inexpensive goodies.

We breached the 60Moz boyz.
And currently bleeding half a million oz every week day, this shit is snowballing FAST.

I wonder when they will finally decide it's time to refill a bit, once they reach 30Moz left, 20Moz?
Also the same thing is happening with their gold vaults, at an even faster pace. But they have a good chunk of it so it will take more time. Still, it's pretty clear metals are leaving the vaults, and they aren't able to fill the gap. No matter how much they tamper, the goyim aren't falling for their tricks now and demand remain stronger than ever.

Fugg sorry to hear anon, but I assume they had to sell to help get through hard times? It's awesome that you kept your coin but ultimately heirloom stuff is a sort of savings that our progenitors meant for us to use if needed. Kind of a way to reach a helping hand from beyond. Unfortunately lots of retards squander what they get, but not everyone. Post that coin if you have it handy.

i am hoping to have about an ounce and a half of nuggets by the end of this season (just to show off).
Fine gold is great and pays bills when i am mechanically mining, but right now there is a serious bounty out for big chunky nugget material, and i ll gladly go after it. So far thats about 28.8 grams of nugget gold, a few more 4 gram nuggets should do the trick, or a nice half / one ouncer. Either or i wont complain, but I have to go out to some seriously remote ground to get it.

I am sniping right now, i have a permit for my alpine ground now but its very difficult country to get heavy machinery near, so i might not be able to move any iron on that yet. Digging by hand is probably better for that territory right now either way, less chance for high graders to spot my workings. Pic related, hand piled rocks last probably worked in 1860, never touched since. Reports from the era suggest gold up to 9 pounds but i ll be thrilled if i get a few dozen 1-4 grammers. Not much fine gold up this spot, its still chunky.

Never mind rèddit tier metals like rhenium or osmium, platinum is enough their 'tism.
Somehow, the isetf dea that one should hold 100 ounces or silver, for evey 1 ounce of gold, and zero other metals, has taken a hold of their little minds in here.
What this will lead to, is it becoming an echo chamber, literally rèddit tier circle jerking.

Also because the gold-silver ratio is a huge thing and /biz/ is about how to make a profit. Expecting more interest in plat or rho in 4chan in /biz/ in /PMG/ is asking for diminishing returns with a lot of input.

Yes. My family of my grandfather's generation took silver coins out of circulation as it was happening.
It doesn't intermingle with my stack. It does certainly influence my stacking habits.
My grandpa influenced me when he noticed me admiring nickels and dimes at a young age. He gave me his old money collection from the war, including lots of very nice condition bank notes and some key date pennies. My faves in the collection are WWII ration vouchers. It's thanks to him I have a coin collection.
Coins are neat.

Like most commodities, the price is determined by futures (as opposed to something like onions which are a cash market). This allows the price to be set on a paper exchange as opposed to supply/demand. Every week you can see examples of slapdowns in the price of silver due to shorting, and the leveraged nature of derivatives is a great way to attack the margin accounts of any small silver speculators in the derivatives market (since they are settled daily).
You also have paper silver ETFs which it is suspected is extremely short on physical supply relative to what they claim they own. So this is another means to inflating the supply of investable silver. Bullion banks also do things like "leasing silver", which is likely just another means of spoofing the market, or allowing an extremely short bank pretend to have the collateral necessary to maintain the position.
On the physical side, you have the Treasury refusing to mint ASEs to the meet demand, which is against the law, in order to prop up premiums due to scarcity. This in turn increasing the price of all physical metal and allows the market to soak up more cash than it can normally sustain at this price level .

I bought with the rest of my available cash last week, so it will almost certainly go down to 17/1600. But even if it does go that low you'll probably only save a portion of the drop, because bullion dealers will just raise the premiums.

They keep the physical price high. THAT is where the actualization of the shortage will be revealed. They want you spending more of your money per ounce than normal.
However, the banks are manipulating the paper price and are usually short on the metal so they need the price to stay down.
Remember, the dollar as a global currency is a beneficial machination of the banking system. They need people to use dollars and accept them, and their inflationary policies do not want to betray rising prices for commodities, as global trading partners would never want to accept it as payment for imports. So they NEED to keep commodity prices in check. The dollar system is a hell of a lot more profitable for the U.S. and the banks that trying to make a single profitable trade on PMs moving higher. Once it does, and people see REAL returns in PMs and a devaluation of the dollar, capital will begin to move out of financial assets and into real world goods and services and the world has no hope of actualizing this 'fake value'.
Think about it: The bond market in the U.S. is $46TN in size, which is like saying the entirety of the U.S. housing market is off somewhere, sitting on the sidelines waiting to be paid back. It's total NONSENSE. The system is loaded with toxic paper debts and is collectively turned into a ponzi scheme.

No you mongoloids. Your shitty memetals are of no interest to us because we already discussed it countless times since 2018. They have huge premiums, zero liquidity, fringe usecases, hard to identify and basically nobody want them.
If the consensus of this general went toward mainly silver, then gold, it's because they have the perfect balance of high recognition, scarcity, monetary history, unique useful properties, global industrial uses, massive future short positions, backwardation, low premiums and are easy to identify.

We went over this over and over and over again, ad nauseam. Nothing will ever beat G&S in term of revaluation potential. Nothing butthurt the kikes more than when you stack those two. The relentless fud campaigns against both on every platforms are the proof of this. I've yet to see a kikebot try to fud platinum. This is why we have no more patience with your retarded newfaggotry. That's Tellurium and Rhenium fren :)

I enjoy the talk of different metals in no small part because of autism and years of curiosity about the whole periodic table, but gold and silver as the most credible and recognized monetary metals possessing important industrial aspects too are the most relevant likely beneficiaries of the monetary upheavals underway right now.

In the latest SD Bullion video, around the 11 minute mark, an overview of the solar panel industry is given and apparently the next generation panels China is moving to use 50% more silver than current ones, with the 3rd generation HJT (heterojunction) panels requiring 3x as much silver. Very bullish for those of us planning to hold for many years, but gold could be remonetized in the nearer future and significantly outperform silver for a period of time, I really dunno.

No, I am expressly saying that it is hard to make such a prediction. We can put some reliance on Taleb's maxim that things that have been useful for a long time will probably continue to be useful. Silver and gold both have deep support there. Platinum not nearly as much. But platinum has unique properties that could very easily play a role in game-changing energy technologies. So IF somebody has already secured a good stack of silver and gold, it is not at all irrational to diversify. Silver, gold, platinum, pauladium, telurium, etc. all have different prospects.

My typical copypasta to answer "what should I buy". It's more, here are some options.
- For generic bars with no design, watch the markups over spot: premiums (added charges) go up for smaller pieces. When selling, your buyer may insist on spot price.
- When a new series of artful or themed bullion (especially coins) comes out, the first of the series are usually missed by later collectors. They will pay high premiums to fill in the series. Ponder the potential for series popularity: generic and/or cringeworthy-themed series have higher failure rates.
- Interesting coins cost least while they're still being minted. Once the mintage stops and dealers run out of stock the prices jump, then rise more slowly but still faster than generic silver. Maples, Eagles, Wieners, Britannias, etc. are all nice but boring. The mint may add a privy to make them more collectible (creating a series) and gin up the price. Buy stuff that changes overall designs from year to year: Somali elephants, Canadian Wildlife, Australian kookaburras or koalas, island nations' series, etc. These become series.
- If you buy pieces that appeal to your sense of art, taste, and interests, they will still feel good even if the price or value of the PM goes nowhere. Caveat: if you go to sell, it's harder to part with them.
- Some beautiful generics are priced comically high (Germanias, e.g.) - they don't follow the market trends as readily, and usually garner highest resale price only for a few years after the mintage. The drawback: dealers may categorize these as "generic" and price them as generic when buying them from you.
- If free shipping is offered, buy enough to take advantage of that. Although it's shipping (not directly PM), it's an added premium.
- Keep a spreadsheet of your purchases!!! You should track profit/loss over time. It's quite revealing.

people can argue a hundred ways. Government minted gold coins generally have the smallest buy sell spread. Where I live in canada the spread is 5% on mint coins which means you lose 5% if you sell the coin back to the shop. That's a very small spread.

Gold and silver jewelry generally is hard to buy under spot and 40% premium (which is what the premium is from mene) is generally the minimum for new stuff.

Also, buyback rates are lower for gold jewelry than mint coins.

I buy mint coins, bars, and jewelry. I try to get the jewelry as close to spot as possible but i have some stuff that i have paid a small premium for - but my opinion is that if you are buying it as insurance for hyper inflation a small premium doesnt matter because hyper inflation means your currency can lose 90 percent of its value in a short time. Who cares about the premium when that happens? All that matters is you have metals.

I am suspicious of this as well. I am not sure if America will be looted entirely as it is the most important land mass on the planet. International powers will always want America to be standing. (The worst case scenario for other groups on the planet is a white North America allied with a white Europe). I think we can't audit the Fed because the gold has been sold into the market many times over to suppress the price.

Hi, Britbong here.

Im looking to buy a gold watch as an investment piece. Ofcourse i realise that in the event of a depression the government will use the resultant scaremongering to confiscate anything precious you hold dear. In many cases this is their plan for consolidation.

However if i buy a gold watch, wherever i go, the watch goes. And if they catch me i lose anyway so whats the real risk?

Also i had a thought. In the movie "The Maltese falcon" (SPOILERS) the falcon is gold and covered in black lacquer so that only the big bads of the show actually know its solid gold. That got me thinking. Sure getting caught would suck but hows some bumkin cop gonna know its a gold watch if i covered it in something like... i dunno, black anodized paint? Dictatorships always employ bumkins, its like a universal rule or something.

That being said, Britain isnt all that bad. Its certainly not like the federal reserve's level of toxicity. The Bank of England still makes gold coins for us. That doesnt mean i trust them though.

SO. Which watch would you recommend? I dont need it to be some super-watch, i just need it to be a vehicle for precious metals that tells time.

>how do you tell silver from other metals

It's really simple, the good stuff is stamped "STERLING" or "925", generally on the bottom/backside or some other inconspicuous location. British sterling hallmarks often feature more prominently and visibly but British silver isn't as common in burgerland so you probably won't miss a whole lot if you don't know how to read them. Lots of things like candle holders and salt shakers are "weighted" meaning they are thin silver sheet full of plaster/cement or some sort of resin, still good scrap if priced cheap though.

Assuming you are in the US, I would suggest full rolls of 1964 dimes, quarters and halves.
They are ubiquitous, universally recognized, have the least wear, and it is just as easy to trade a full roll of quarters (7.234 oz) as it is a 10 oz bar. If SHTF and you have to barter, you have small pieces available, that again, are well known and recognized.
I would urge a similar strategy for other countries to a point, but other countries seem to have higher premiums on their coins. (I love 1920-1945 mexican junk, but it routinely sells for like for like $40/oz.)

It's also ok to buy expensive pieces that you like, but keep a clear distinction between your 'collection' (hobby) and your 'stack' (saving account).
