But my degree is in EE and the few CS classes I took were plenty to help me fill in the blanks by writing some hobby software myself a couple years after I graduated, & I eventually pivoted from poking circuits all day to doing this. 110% worth it. I don't really know what advice I would give though but i'll say I was always a computer nerd, basically since I was a boy, it's all I did. If that's not you then you can probably still learn but it'll be a different process than whatever I did

So I sat down took a bunch of adderall every day, set up in front of Pycharm, and just started googling to figure out what I'd need to make a simple GUI app in python that would work as a limit chaser for me, so I could hook into Deribit's API and continuously poll the orderbook to set limit orders right at the spread

One thing I will say tho is while the general programming skills you'll get with C are good to have, it's not super applicable in the field since no one really uses C (the jobs that do need people for that are looking for senior level ppl etc) so I'd personally put a little more time into meme web frameworks & stuff like that, as kind of stupid as that is. 7) Learn some testing, including unit testing and integration testing, with mocking, etc., and some step debugger (ex. xdebug for PHP)
8) Take notes on everything you learn, as learning, make and memorize a shitload of notecards, and memorize a bunch of "top 20 OOP interview questions," "top python questions," etc., as well as all practice data modelling, and 1337code.

I have been watching some content about what sort of projects I should do and what sort of experience I should get before applying, and it seems that trying to do everything from scratch (what i'm kinda interested in) isn't as valued as just creating large working products. So I will maybe focus on utilizing other tools out there to create things im interested in, and work form there, and mess around with some more abstracted languages. Game dev is kinda why i got interested because i want to be able to do something recreational with a skill i learn for my career, but am having fun solving coding challenges all around.
