I was always in the city and the Internet was generally as reliable. COX in the US was less reliable. If the Internet stayed down I'd call the landlord.

In Ukraine, I had a 100Mbps connection I rarely got what I paid for out of. I realized at some point the router was from 2007 and the Ethernet cable they were using was basically rotten and degrading from constant use. I replaced that with some spares I kept in my computer bag and it worked. Got a replacement router from the last decade and had no more issues.
