Is the Lottery actually a good investment?

I unironically feel like $2 a week to the lottery is not a waste of money. It's literally nothing, I just imagine it as instead of buying a drink or something I bought a tiny tiny chance to win big. I know it sounds retarded and the odds aren't as good as other stuff, but you literally don't have to do anything you just set it to go automatically and might one day just receive an email telling you you made it.
What do you anons think? Am I being retarded?

Based. I do the same.
I personally know a middle age couple who won the jackpot like 14 years ago.
The husband retired and they've been living happy since.
They never would have won if they didnt buy tickets.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. I know it's popular to hate on the lotto as an 'intellectual' but don't you want to at least have the chance to win? Also paying an extra $4-8 a month in "stupid tax" is completely negligible

In a lot of jurisdictions the lottery is corrupt and rigged, only insider freemasons will be given winning tickets.

The odds are almost impossible, but for the price of a coffee it's not that costly. Although, $2 per week adds to $104 at the end of the year.

people who constantly imagine winning the lottery but never play are dumber than the people that actually play
