Its great. You can make the most money trading options intraday. There have been quite a couple times where I could've made $5,000+ if I would've just held on a little longer. I only trade and hold options intraday for 30 minutes to 1 hour tops. The BEST way to get yourself out of poverty. I've swing traded SPY Calls/Puts with a maximum principal of $3,000 and exited with a $500 - $900 daily.

Looking at the 5 year chart for oil it seems like it really could keep coming down pretty hard. I wouldn't be surprised a single bit if the governments of the world find some way to manipulate the price of oil back to a less inflationary level and then say "oh look inflation was never really that bad!". Maybe we'll get some more red crabbing bullshit while the Fed jawbones but honestly I think the market might be heading back up.

>selling calls
Based as fuck. Free money on your longs. I have positions that I've been selling covered calls on that have a cost basis of 0 or negative now. Write really shitty low delta contracts that never get assigned.
>buying calls
Almost straight up superior to buying shares IF you are careful. Buy deep in the money, lots if time till expiry and on deep red days. For example I paid $400 for a $7 11/18 SNAP contract today that I'll dump whenever it hits $600 or whatever even though I think snap is shit

>Selling puts is dumb
Why not do it for stocks that you're net bullish on for extra yield? Also, puts usually have extra premium due to volatility skew. They also form the backbone of other strategies, such as condors, and can be used for eg put calendar spreads (whether bull or bearish), or long synth futures, etc.

Also what's funny is that selling OTM puts is technically the worst thing for market makers to hedge against. Hypothetically, if you sold like millions of OTM puts against SPY, you could actually crash the market since all the flow would get fucked from the hedging, and force the share price down.

Anon, you have a cost basis of 0 or below on these positions because the stock itself was in a severe downtrend and you held all the way down.
"Shitty low delta contracts" net you a pittance of premium, nearly unable to get the cost basis of a position down if the stock is in an uptrend.

The way I look at:
>Want to enter position, net bullish long term (funny line goes up)
>Could buy a call
>Or you could buy an ATM and sell an ATM put, creating a long synth future, giving you a net 100 delta for almost no cost, the downside being that you need 100 shares worth of cash to buy it in case you get exercised
>Do this with a LEAPS option
>Either get assigned and buy into a position, then you just write covered calls indefinitely
>Or you don't get assigned and get to sit on 100 delta

Also regarding selling puts - why not just treat them the same as covered calls but in reverse?
>Bullish (but not too bullish) on the stock
>Long 100 and write out calls to lower cost basis
>Bearish (but not too bearish) on the stock
>Short 100 and write out puts to lower cost basis

TQQQ and SOXL especially are exposed to a volatile underlying. I'd wait for the shit and piss 500 to get above the 200 MA before buying either. You won't get fucked by volatility drag and it means the market is generally bullish. Pic related shows that 2X leverage works better for a buy and hold strategy with the nasdaq 100. Calls on top of 3X ETFs has a very high risk, and they have lower options liquidity. You're better off buying calls on QQQ instead if you want the leverage. There's a good chance the market drops to new lows by December too. I don't think we're out of the woods yet.

Because SIGA is the go to treatment and it’s the most expensive. BN is out of shots. Countries will go thru their TPOXX stockpiles and have to replenish. Once kids start getting this, they will be treated with TPOXX.
Also with unexpected mutations, the shot may prove ineffective. I wish I would have bought that MNRA dip. As much as I hate that company, they’ll be doling out mRNA clot shots for MPOXx in the near future and bagging even more contracts.
Don’t buy SIGA though.

Pic related is from a paper called "leverage for the long run." Basically you buy UPRO (3x SP 500) when the SP 500 is above the 200 MA. And sell when it crosses below. It averaged 26% returns (top row, far right in pic). Compared to 16% returns with a buy and hold strategy. You also never have to worry about liquidation. You could swap out UPRO for TQQQ if that's your preference. Tech performs well in bull markets and the returns could be higher. But as for a buy and hold strategy you're probably better off with QLD or SSO.

>broke out of descending parallel channel
>schaff trend cycle indicates a confirmed uptrend - but this could turn at any time
>MACD is green and confirms an uptrend, but it's been continuing for a while, and will likely go back down
>RSI is in the overbought range, but it depends on whether it stays embedded or drops below 70 again
>7ma is below the 50ma - it could rise above it and into a golden cross, but this seems unlikely since it would also be breaking out of the bollinger band
If it did break put, it has the potential to retrace as high as 423, but no more - that's likely the local top for at least a few days.

I really don't understand SNAP's business. It seems like a great deal for the employees.

Costs are split 33% between staffing, marketing, and R&D. I'd like to see a better breakdown, but it's all sus. If your core product is selling ad space, why are they spending so much money on marketing themselves? And why are R&D expenses so high when its just your employees making new filters?
Average employee gets paid $180k per year.

I guess they're getting more users but every penny they earn just goes into ephemeral expenses.

Options have 3 inputs to determine their fair market value: strike price, expiry date, and implied volatility (IV). Basically it's what the price "should" be, according to Black-Scholes. If the price goes up, then that means liquidity is down and IV is up.
Based on those inputs, you can also calculate the greek values, like delta, theta, gamma, vega that describe how the FMV of that contract changes over time. Assuming there were actual takers at those prices, it would mean that I benefit from theta decay, benefit from volatility, and remain neutral to price movements. Of course, as price and time changes, so does the gamma, which means I need to constantly adjust this position, if there's any whipsaw in prices. But as you can see from the blue curve on the chart, there's less than a 1% chance of the price breaking past $5.75 in the next week (statistically speaking).
Haven't looked at technicals or volume yet.

Not that I would enter this trade, but I'm doing it on paper to see what happens

Was pretty cool and the beer and food was good too. Lowry Beer Garden, a bit far from downtown but check it out if you're ever in Denver.

Its pretty viable, more people are doing it, there was some googler who did it with a camper van. You just have solar panels, batteries and a generator. You can go wherever you want, never any stress moving for work. Major downside is if you live in a shithole your RV will get broken into by nogs, and the RV depreciates in value while land just gets progressively more expensive over time.

Our lead technician stepped back as he switched the system on this morning. He nervously awaited the daily market data. The computer began churning and making awful noise...the power flickered...out r computer takes up 4 whole floors..its the most advanced computational device around. The technician stepped back...the table rocked as the printer began spewing out pages of 1s and zeros...a team of analysts nervously attended to the machine...one of them picked up the thick papers and began reading.....pushed up his spectacles "it says buy sir!!"

I smiled....for I knew already today would be bullish. I walked to the window overlooking the testing floor. The traders stopped..looked and awaited the sign

I gave it. I gave the thumbs up. Thst meant it was a BUY day well the boys in the pit started hootin and a hollering because they knew our super computer is never wrong

It was a good day. A green day. Our system called it. Tommorrow will be green day aswell
