I make 80k/year and I’m getting my shit pushed in by inflation. I live with my parents and pay pretty reduced rent + utilities, have a GF, and we can barely save any money now because food and gas and utilities and car repairs take it all. How the fuck is a family making 30k/year less than me even fucking surviving this shit?

>80k year

How is it possible that you're not saving? Let's assume you're living in California and pay a lot in tax. That $80k is now about $58k. Assuming your "pretty reduced rent + utilities" at your parents' is $1000/month, you now have $46k. Food, gas, bills, car repairs etc should not be costing you more than $10k/year. Maybe you splurge on some nice things and spend an extra $4k on clothes and video games or whatever.

Accounting for all of the above, you should STILL have $32k left over. OP confirmed LARPing incel.

Starting in the 80’s Americans were hit with the messaging that funding a comfy retirement was more important than anything else, including anything good for their children.
Many took it to heart. You’ll see some Boomers and Silents right now making a decision on whether to raise more money with a reverse mortgage or by stopping paying for home insurance. The Boomer lament: they won’t let me have a reverse mortgage without insurance.

everywhere rent is expensive. i get it people should have bought a house. well they didnt and rent is fucking out of control in at least the south eastern part of the united states. anything affordable is a meth trailor or apartment in the ghetto. how the fuck are people housing their families?
gas is just lol. im lucky to drive a 4 banger that is owned. dont even have a car payment and my car insurance is like $87 a month. meanwhile people have $500 car payments a month on top of just basic essentials.

- Also personal hygiene products/services

- Add bad judgement trying to court a woman for marriage before your 30
- Add a bad investment because who is perfect and who the fuck puts all their money in a CD or bank?

You can't just get another job and move if you aren't a fast food worker or something. It takes several months, even in the boom times which are over for the next 6-12 months.

This is the benefit of having a shit wagie job. It's like having a piece of shit car, you don't have to worry about it or care what happens to it. You can just up and quit and go do some similar entry level shit on the other side of the country. You can decide to do a remote job data entry job and go live in Croatia for a year. You can go fuck around and teach English in Taiwan if you felt like it. There's no career or resume gaps you have to worry about; you're a free man.
