The actual answer is both. Work hard, make money, invest a portion of your income into various different things with most of it going to rock solid shit that barely earns anything most of the time while allocating a portion of your investable income into degenerate longshots. Preferably 10% or less. Just being a lazy piece of shit and earning no money isn't enough unless you've got daddy warbucks to bankroll your degeneracy or get exceedingly, death-defyingly lucky at the right time with enough capital. The real end goal is enough passive income to fulfill your needs and desired lifestyle with additional money left over to continue investing in the same manner.
