Nobody knows what their real collateral vs liability level is, look at their X-17A-5 disclosure form and you can see their liabilities and assets always magically stretch and contract in-line with each other so I have no real idea how bad things actually have to get before they die. They have some kind of mechanism to grow their collateral, maybe it's just them begging for more client funds/loans but they ballooned assets over the past 20 years to match their huge growing liabilities. Pretty interesting that they have a net $4 billion in liabilities owed on repurchase agreements, if you look at their total assets vs and stocks not yet purchased liabilities, this basically makes up the entirely of their positive balance sheet. Maybe already insolvent.
