I inherited $200k last year

I put $100k into a safe investment fund, and its only down $93k

But I put $100k into bitcoin, and its down $60k.....

I am poor and cant afford to be losing like this, if I had just never invested id still have $200k, instead now I have lost $47k

You should've diversified more.
Even simply splitting the money into 4 $50k chunks would've been better.
For example
1 into treasury bonds
1 into index fund
1 into bitcoin
1 into misc stocks

Don't put into any 1 investment an amount of money you wouldn't be ok-ish with losing. Always make sure that if any single investment goes to zero you're still fine and can recover.
This is day 0 stuff, it should be second nature to you before you invest a single dollar.

You guys don’t remember the “rates can’t go up ever again” posters? About how rates would either stay 0% or even go negative due to debts being unserviceable if rates were raised at all

Who knows what the fuck Bitcoin will be doing in 5 years, but if you put the other $100k into an S&P500 fund or anything else tied to the stock market overall, it's pretty much guaranteed to be worth more in 5 years. S&P500 averages 10% returns yearly. Some years it may dump 40%, others it may go up 20% on a good year, 10% is just the average. As long as you don't need the money soon, just ride it out.
