Blogposting about this shiny. The only one I have currently. 1915 1 Austrian Ducat if the date is correct. I used to 'collect' coins as a child. Only ever having used euros, whenever I saw a coin that looked remotely foreign I 'collected' it. Several years later down the line I decided to actually look through my collection. Every single coin I had collected was a variant of the British Pound except for this one. I looked closer at it and noticed the Habsburg eagle (played enough CK2 and read up enough on wiki by then to recognise the double headed eagle). And well boom, I was in ownership of a hundred year old gold coin. Where the fuck did I find it? It shall be a mystery ever more. However, I love this lil nigga.

Thank you for reading :)

Here's more on your Ducat
The Gold Austrian Ducat is one of the worlds oldest and purest bullion coins, containing 98% gold content (23-karat). This coin is dated 1915, but was re-struck much later - it should therefore be considered as a bullion coin, rather than a numismatic collectors piece. It is still a remarkable coin however, with a thickness of around .7mm. Franz Joseph I features on the obverse of the coin, with the coat of arms of Austria and a double-headed Imperial Eagle on the reverse.

Oh nice. Well, it's not so much the coin itself I doubt but the vendor. Celtic Gold is the name, they have a single exemplar of the 100 Corona and supposedly have a near flawless track record in terms of reviews. However, in the past 3 days, 2 reviews claimed no package delivered, and at least a few of their reviews on ebays are duplicates.

If anything is going to do a paradigm shift, it's going to be something like zinc or copper, which is nearly depleted but was once plentiful. There are only a couple billion living in first world conditions, if the other 6 billion start wiring and plumbing their mud huts with copper it's going to be in a lot higher demand than supply.
I'm betting on silver because kikes are mad at me for buying it.
You're betting on platinum because it's rarer and makes /pmg/ butthurt.
Goldbugs are betting on gold because they get taxed on anything else because yurop is gay.
We're all betting on precious metals we don't need to sperg out at each other, we can save that for crypto niggers.

He was detained and questioned by the police, he explained he had traded a former car of his for those coins, but the police "didn't believe him", and seized all the coins. The traveler was given AR$10,000 for expenses and to return, and no charges were filed against him. The total seized was the 107 coins and various checks he had with him among his posessions.

Something special about physical assets as opposed to a number on a screen, is that you have a memory of acquiring it, there is a story behind it. A story that most likely recalls a happy day when you got it, the sacrifice or effort you put into getting it, etc. To have that taken away in an instant, just like that. Also, how disrespectful it is that he wasn't even found guilty of anything illegal, and he was given pocket change to return. As if saying "here, take a bus back to where you came from, and forget anything happen."

The police confiscated it even though the guy had a huge collection of receipts for his money. The reason the polices gives to disregard the tickets was that it looked suspicious because it was in zip bags. Also, another thing they do is that they scan your fiat for traces of cocaine, which almost all fiat notes have, it is said. I also heard that when they pull someone on a search, the cop knows how to entice the dog to become agitated and give that as a cause of justified suspicion for a search.

Looking to drop about 4€k into precious metals, with perhaps another €250 each month from here on out. How should I split this 4k? Best deals I could find so far were:
>2x 100 Gold AH Kroner for €3,434.00
>22x 1oz Silver Britannia for €556.60
My thinking here is that in the next few months it would be better to buy more silver with each €250 rather than waiting say 4 months and buying 1/2 oz of gold, so I may as well drop the 3.5K now into gold. The premium on the Kroner is just over 1% too so it seems to be the best choice, though I'm not sure on the resell part of things.

Also, I'm a bit confused on how VAT is applied to these sales.I can import silver from Austria via Goldvorsorge into Ireland at a price of €25.30 per 1oz coin, but there is no mention of VAT. By contrast, an Irish website has a VAT-included price of €27.60. The Irish website has a price hike of some 10%, but VAT in Ireland is at 23%. So is it just that the premium on top of the Austrian website is so high as to almost mimic the effect of VAT or is it already included in the price?

The USD is only getting stronger because countries are dropping their own currency for it so they can continue to buy stuff like the pretrodollar. Once they can no longer afford to buy the USD for their reserve currency

The USD is currently the global reserve currency so countries around the world store the dollar because that is what oil is sold in. Once these countries can no longer afford to convert their fiat into USD, the exchange market will then be flooded with the dollar that the Fed can't get rid of causing hyper inflation.

Fiat has no intrinsic value, it's nothing but faith with artificial scarcity, unlike precious metals that are scarce and require effort to obtain.

Because its an identifying marker. Did you forget that youre on an "anonymous" website? You know, the place where anyone could be anyone. Bad enough there are avatarfags making shit all about them, but essentially giving out a free finger print just for a round with a meme is kinda dumb. Yeah its cool, but its also the same level of retarded as going to a /k/ meetup. Youre literally giving them your credit card, contact info, and home adress. Its unlikely that literally anyone outside of circles such as the one we share via a hairs width of thread would ever buy one, let alone even know it exists. Alright, so this whole "being unaware of both Frensmark and /mlp/ coin" debacle has made me very nervous. With coin sellers being b& from talking about their new coins, how can Anon be in the know? I figure the solution is a /biz/ (and related) meme round aggregator site, completely separated from the sellers, that Anon can spread the link to, once up, like /out/ has for patches. I'm thus going to make this site, over the next week, or couple weeks.

The site would have two main sections: a seller list page (ex. https://patchfeed.com/patch-seller-list/)) and then a news feed page. Round producers will be able to submit updates for the news feed page via email, which i will then post on the site, with the feed being date ordered. The feed will allow only five types of updates, to reduce maintenance time required by me:

>1. announcement of a new coin, with initial design image and timeline required
>2. announcement of funding starting for a coin, with funding link required
>3. announcement of funding ending for a coin, which will be posted 5 days before end
>4. announcement of final samples minted for a coin, mint images required
>5. announcement of samples starting shipping, shipping timeline required

Once I've got the site built, and hosted, I'll post a link and email here, for minting Anon.

Literally what gold does. Silver is a mooncoin that ofc is popular on 4chan where neets have less money.

With silver, you will pay 5X the premium to buy silver than you will to buy gold. Silver coins have a 20% to 50% premium right now. Generic silver with the cheapest premiums, will be difficult to sell, especially in any sizable quantity. You will lose money on your silver unless it moons AND dealers are willing to pay you full spot for it (many don't now).

Gold is gold and it always has been. You will have 0 (zero) issue selling 2 gold coins for full spot. Good luck trying to dump 100 silver coins and make back spot (nevermind recouping the insane premium you paid).

Only buy silver if you think it will moon or you think we'll be living in Mad Max and people will use it as money (lol).

>Gold is gold and it always has been. You will have 0 (zero) issue selling 2 gold coins for full spot.

It's pretty obvious that the days of gold being a hedge are over. We've just seen the worst inflation since the Carter days (arguably worse if you believe the numbers are inaccurate measurements), and gold has not kept up.

The whole market manipulation paper price stuff is horseshit. If you take your gold to a dealer today, he's going to have a spot price from today and that's it. Yeah, they'll want to sell it to you at whatever premium, but you're fucked if you want to liquidate.

The only pm retard response on this is "why are you selling, cuck?" But the problem there is they're being a coward by not defending the inflation hedge argument, which clearly gold has lost.

Why? Because up until a hundred years ago it is true, most people commoner or not did value gold. That is no longer the case. Most people wouldn't know what the fuck an ounce of gold is worth and don't care, because those that rule them no longer consider it a medium of exchange.

That's the simple explanation. You're welcome to be a numismatic collector if you have spare cash, but the dollar is king until the US empire collapses.

Realistically in a madmax scenario aluminum would be the most valuable metal to barter with.
Impossible to produce without industrial furnaces. Which is why it was more valuable than even gold in the 19th century.
Gold and silver can be produced by pretty much anybody with a candlestick.

Gold value may drop significantly more from current spot. When the economy gets even more fucked people will start to sell their coins just to buy essentials. Similarly, if just one country gets rekt enough to sell their reserves like Cyprus did years ago, the value will momentarily tank. But this would just be a perfect opportunity to buy

This is an inaccurate assessment of the situation. I write quite frequently here about the dangers of the over leveraged economy we have and how it present losses to the tune of hundreds of trillions of dollars of wealth being written off. Owning physical assets is going to be THE PLACE to be when the bond market begins to topple.

I was just answering anon on his question between gold and silver, and between those 2, gold is the obvious choice for the 2 parameters he provided.

It is true that gold is dropping now when it should be pumping. We've never seen anything like this before. I personally believe we will see PMs rally, but this current drop is concerning.

Good luck anon! My only advice is to set a price you're comfortable with beforehand and stick to it.

I'm heading out to pick up a nice score of vintage sterling North American animal medallions that I won for spot when it was $19.30. Will post pics on return.

Remember folks, the banks NEED to pursue an inflationary monetary policy. However, they need all of the incentives and signals to steer you AWAY from physical assets. If capital moves from financial instruments to physical goods then the overleveraged shell game comes to an end immediately.
There is a catastrophic shortage of goods and services in the world, and inflation will actually ease this problem by making your "claims" to goods such as dollars buy less. So the ONLY play is to get your money stored in the physical goods. PM prices will catch up suddenly and overnight, just like they did in the 1920s when gold went from $20.67 to $35 per ounce. A 69% loss of purchasing power that happened overnight for anyone who held the cash instead of the gold. This is 100% going to happen again but on an even larger scale. Trust your gut, chasing after 7% gains is going to look foolish compared to the breakdown that is coming to a head as we speak. No matter who you are, or how wealthy you are, an 80% loss in purchasing power will wipe you out. So even if you make some gains on something like TSLA or AMZN or BTC, we are on the edge of a cliff that is forming in the BOND MARKET.

just make sure, either ebay or reddit, not to ship your shit out until the buyer has paid. (ebay will hold funds until confirmed delivered tho, just make sure to use tracking)

also, shipping a small package to europe from usa was ~30 bucks when i did it last year. On ebay I think i have it set for domestic buyers only.
