my conclusion was that the guy either directly wrote to celsius or just shilled his 'LP providing' service at crypto conferences. and it's one thing the guy probably didn't point out the risks of his activity to celsius properly, but celsius also managed to remove all the liquidity at the worst possible time, they literally suffered a >70% loss of funds because the price difference between crypto assets and stable coins was between 2020 august and 2021 may was pretty much at the peak, and they apparently had 0 understanding of impermanent loss. but that didn't stop them from blowing ~120,000 BTC worth of funds on liquidity providing. Celsius just removed a few hours ago their last remaining 2.2 million LINK tokens from Aave to sell it on FTX.
https://etherscan.io/tx/0xe97e8b712f309a756b11fa7564a92c3bbb5bb59656026c76c33b892a4f4e5f90

Your real ownership of LINK tokens will be 0 after their bankruptcy in 1 week.
Their global losses must be in the 40%-60% range at least and they sold everything for fiat at the bottom.
If you are lucky after they exit scam you may recover 50% of the amount of $ LINK is currently worth right now in half a year or 1-2 years after it pumped back to healthier valuations.

Let's make an example:
If you had 10k LINK on Celsius you would recover $30000 in 1-2 years, however LINK may be worth $50-200 by that time and you could only buy back 600- 150 LINK in that scenario.

Why did you not diversify and use risk management?
You should have not put more than 30% of your stack with them.
You can see this as the price paid for a lesson.
Everyone goes through multiple mistakes until they stop being a degenerate and this lesson should help you improve as an investor long term.

You can still recover a bit if you can take a loan to buy back some of your stack now.
Technically LINK should go to $1000-5000 one day and there will be other opportunities for bull run pumps.
Even a 1000-5000 LINK stack should make you a millionaire with enough time.

Your next focus should be to restart accumulating as quickly as possible.

There may be a scenario where the holdings of other users will be used to recover more LINK at the moment funds are partially repaid, but I don't know how this works and this should be seen as the best case scenario.

In that case what would happen is that the remaining Celsius funds in $ would be used to buy back a % of all the user holdings at a specific date.
If LINK went up against other assets in that time it would not change this, and they would have to pay more to buy back 40% of the initial stack at $50 even if they sold at $6.
This would decrease the overall % of assets other users would get back, but it would be a more equitable solution.

Even if this was to be done, you should do everything you can to accumulate a new stack on your own until you know what will happen.

Don't give up. LINK is at historical lows.
You can still buy a smaller stack and may have 6 months to 2 years left to accumulate and can still make it with a smaller stack.

The lesson to learn from this is that there will always be warning signs when something is off and you should not ignore those signs.
If something feels shady don't ignore it because of your greed and run away as quickly as possible.

The Celsius whore meme should have been the warning sign that something is not done properly at the company and someone recruited a whore through sex promotions for an important role.
This meant someone is morally corrupt in the company and should not be trusted with money.
If you can learn to recognize warning signs this won't happen again to you.

Welp. That's a good 11k down the drain. I guess there's a chance I recover some of this but we will see how it goes.
I've got 20k usdc stuck in scream
1000 link and 4 eth stuck in bancor.
I have a little more confidence in bancor than I do the rest but I'm not gonna hold my breath. I've got the cash to rebuy my stacks and I'm just gonna start doing that slowly. I'm still convinced the broader market has a lot lower to go.

But hopefully the silver lining is I can take these losses down the line as a tax incentive. I believe losses due to bankruptcy can take a while before you can take them as a loss so I can offset them as a future loss. Bancor and scream losses I can just sit on in perpetuity until things materialize. My other plus side here is that I have more in stables than I thought I did so I'm still chilling. For those who got fucked way harder than me though don't kill yourself or anything. You've learned something you can't learn from text books. Dust yourself off and move on.

You will look back on this moment in a few years and see it as an important moment which created the current you and made you a lot stronger.
Everyone goes through a few moments like this, but after reaching the correct mindset things correct themselves out with time.

If you can have the mindset of always trying to learn from your mistakes to keep improving, you won't regret your biggest mistakes as much and see them as the price for an important lesson.

Good luck!

Even 30% is too high. What I had in here was like 1% of my folio but it turned into 5% after dumps. I should have reallocated honestly but you know what is worse than 30%? 100%.

If there's one lesson here to take away, it's that you really need to evaluate risk management. That whole "never have more than 1% of your portfolio at risk" shit isn't just a meme (although really should dig into it beyond that). And yes that goes for native staking too when that comes out (of course I'm sure smug linkies will tell you that its technologically impossible)

I'm unhappy yeah. Essentially 20% of my networth is getting wiped by these things at once. I've also realized I should have moved mkre into stocks and Bitcoin. If your takeaway from this is ONLY "not your keys not your crypto" and you failed to learn any lessons about risk management (especially with the massive doomping this last year) then you've basically failed and you'll make more mistakes that aren't just Celsius tier or bancor tier stupid.

There ya go. You've already got plenty of reasons to keep going and improving. We all got caught up in that bullrun. But now we're back down to earth and just have to keep pushing forward.

From a financial perspective, I will always say this is a crash course in tons of financial lessons. If you've tasted an assload of wealth then you now have tools that others won't have and can recognize similar patterns in the future. Personally? I don't know if it's gonna be Bitcoin (although I hope it is kek) but look at all the shit people got rich off in the last 20 years. Dotcom bubble, housing bubble, 2017 bubble, tesla, gamestop, etc. There's plenty of opportunity and I firmly believe that everyone's gotta learn this kind of lesson once. So just keep it up.

30% is the maximum for degens.
However it should hurt less than losing 100%
You can still recover with 70% of your funds.

Proper risk management would see that you don't risk more than 1-2% per trade, and in this case you should have done a proper assessment of the real risks.

If you didn't know where the yield from Celsius comes from you should have assumed there was some risk involved and taken that into consideration, and only used them for an initial test with a 1-2% test stack for more than a year until you get a better feel for their business.
For UST the Anchor 18% yield was created through magical printing and should have been seen as a very high risk investment.
It was possible to take an insurance on the UST depeg risk by the way for a percentage of the yield.

The most important part of investing is not generating profits, but protecting your assets.
If you can save 100% of your assets even if you miss out on an opportunity you will still find another opportunity later.

Just FYI -- cheaper 11 is different from chapter 7. So there's a nonzero chance that you get your current USD value our of Celsius as of whatever the value is today. Depends on what happens with the company and what the courts shake out. It doesn't necessarily absolve them of debt more so that it essentially buys them time to do so.

Does this mean you're for sure getting your shit back? No absolutely not. Someone said that only 25 percent of companies come out okay after chapter 11. But this certainly isn't over. If you're in a ton of coins though, my condolences. It likely you only get the value today back if you're lucky. Guess we will see 5 years from now though

Yes, the idiots who think "Celsius might be fine because many companies bounce back from Chapter 11" are comparing themselves to fucking Delta and American Airlines, as if flying people around the world is a service comparable to what Celsius is doing. There is 0% they "come out of this" like people are saying. The fact that Celsius added this line about Delta and American Airlines in their youtube video today on Chapter 11 bankruptcies is just insulting.

In theory this is how DeFi should work in my opinion. Just a simple contract that does this calculation perfectly. The only reason people trusted Celsius over a DeFi contract is because a centralized entity would allow for blame if they messed something up, or customer service, etc.

DECENTRALIZED FINANCE DOES NOT EXIST NOR NEVER WILL

ANYTHING THAT LABELS ITSELF DECENTRALIZED IS A FUCKING SCAM STRAIGHT UP.

A decentralized blockchain would be where everyone has their own coin and chain and can create whatever rules they want on their chain.

All these coins and tokens have a centralized ledger that records all transactions, like the ledger in a bank.

It doesn't matter if it's an oracle or a blockchain or God recording transactions. Everybody is a fucking liar and a fraud. Ya'll can't be trusted with decentralized finance.

Case in point.

Can't wait for people to figure out that Web3 will offer the exact opposite of what they're advertising it as. "What do you mean I have to KYC to use the internet!? I own my data."

>My data
What data? Your name? Age? DoB? Address? Oh we don't collect that information because it doesn't tell us anything. Hey where your IP address goes on the web while connected to the public internet isn't your data. It's the internets data.

They did it with luna - I saw more activity on a semi-normal site when luna was dying than ever before. People that never posted in the crypto threads coming in to report that they had bought. It is dumb.
>because it might moon
K what about the other thousand options that existed before and after that particular product died?

Not too sure of other utilities, but various DAOs are adopting SpoOL as a treasury management tool , to save them from going into trenches. Tell me what more do I need as a utility kek

It's possible yeah

But actually I pulled everything off Celsius when I noticed they were not liquidating customer collateral even though their loans hit the margin call price... I saw that Nexo were doing that so moved their instead.

Also Celsius CFO then got arrested for financial fraud he committed at another company.... Big red flags ;-)

Look on apple store. Celsius app had 5 star rating, why? They never liquidated positions that hit the strike price - meaning they took stupid risk. Nexo had 3 stars, every negative review on Nexo was little bitches complaining about how they got liquidated at the quoted margin call strike point.

I'm really out of the loop, but did you fucks think you can do decentralized finance, on a centralized exchange?
