The quick fix would be to just convert everything you don't need into USD or CHF.
Gold should be VAT free in pretty much all of Europe, so just buy the lowest premium Full Ounces from whatever online dealer or Bullion shop. If you can't afford full ounces, get old Gold coins like Vrenelis, 20 Lire, Sovereigns, etc.
I'd also recommend getting some Silver, but you can't get it VAT free anymore in the EU and tax laws vary from country to country to the point where it might not be worth it.

Platinum is cool but it doesn't have the same history as gold and silver. A lot of the value of plat is in the automotive industry which is getting NWO'd.
Then the platsplainers hate on silber for seemingly no reason.
I only buy coins so plat is a hard buy for me, there are few to no coins I like, want, and would be cost effective. Gold and silver though and I'm spoiled for choice.

No idea it's name. I got it as a gift. It is a nesting set of jewelry boxes. The internal diameter of the largest happens to be a little over 36mm which is perfect for Canadian silver dollar coins. The middle sized one is perfect for dimes both US and Canada. The smallest one holds the pendant w/ opal I found on the beach when I was very young.
Picrel is the same boxes closed.
If you meant the coin, 1935 leafland dollar coins and eBay.

Greetings Indiabro. I don't know if there is an Indian equivalent, but over here in the states we have numerous auctions and estatesales every week where people liquidate their parents assets. This is one major method that suppliers use to acquire their inventory. It takes a lot of time and effort to research, plan, and stay competitive at these events, but there are people that make a literal living doing it. For me, it's a hobby. I'm like a marlin swimming among sharks at a lot of these things, but occasionally a hidden gem of a lot comes up that they miss. That's where I swoop in and scoop up cheapies for 25-60% of spot.

It sounds like there's not a large silver market in India, only gold. Maybe there's room for you to step in and fill that market?

You buy cheapies below spot, get them refined, then can sell the bullion on eBay at even higher premiums than large volume dealers charge. For example as of right now the melt value of this batch I scooped is $525, it's hard to go wrong when you stack the right stuff. Takes more time than YOLO-clicking buttons on a shitcoin or stock trading app, but to be fair conducting proper research and DD on those assets takes time too.

Checked, nice ancients fren. As a fellow sperg with a brand of 'tism soothed by polishing and cleaning/restoring things I recommend getting a binocular 10-20x microscope and an assortment of tools for cleaning crusty ancient coins. I've spent hundreds of hours perfecting my skills and turning dirty ugly ancient Greek coins into lovely little gems by slowly and methodically removing the crusts occluding the designs. It's very satisfying turning a cheapie "diamond in the rough" into a far more desirable attractive and valuable coin by careful removal of the obscuring dirt while leaving the actual patina intact.

>If you bought coins you probably would have ended up paying $650 (inc taxes, premiums) for what you paid $140.45 dollars for.

With tax it was more like $147.50 but yeah, after spot+premiums broke $20/oz in 2020 I moved almost exclusively to stacking quality sterling and getting the junk sterling refined. Several other anons are also skilled at sniffing out below spot deals, it's a great strategy if your brain is wired right for it. When people say "spot price isn't the real price" it's true in both directions, not merely a justification for paying premiums.

For those of you planning to swap your silver for gold when the GSR corrects, what exactly is your plan?
As we all know both gold and silver generally move up or down alongside eachother. Meaning if silver looks like its topping out, gold would most likely be as well.
Lets say hypothetically, gold goes to $20,000 and silver goes to $1000 over the course of 5 years. You could:

1. sell your silver at the top for cash. Immediately use the cash to buy gold. Watch silver go down 50% and gold down 30%. (Reduced downside potential, without having exposure to fiat, but you would effectively be buying the gold top in case of a multiyear bear market)

2. sell your silver at the top for cash. Wait for both metals to pullback deeply. Then use cash to buy gold. (Very risky to hold cash for long periods of time, pullback may never come as both gold and silver go to infinity, priced in USD.)

3. sell your silver at the top. Use cash to buy some other kind of asset such as land/housing/other commodities that have underperformed compared to gold and silver. (Putting aside USD valuations, both gold and silver will be in a bubble one day in terms of gold:oil, silver:acre, etc.)

hello /pmg/

is it good to keep your gold/silver in a bank vault

I have been debating it recently, as opposed to just keeping it hidden in my home (and defended by my raw skill with a 1000 folded katana)

The best defense for your PMs is secrecy. I wouldn't trust ANYONE with possession of my PMs. Multi millionaires who can jetset the globe often espouse the wisdom in having gold stored around the world, but that only really applies to them.
What we all need to understand, is the collapse of the money supply is due to leverage, and specifically a $46TN bond market. Literal toxic paper that is twice the size of the U.S. GDP. These are LOSSES. These are piece of paper where you put real money and resources IN and you will get nothing back OUT. We all own this shit toxic paper in Social Security, Insurance companies, Pensions, and our banking system. With the unwinding of this leverage you will see a massive sell off of all sorts of assets, including stocks and bonds etc. You will see tightening credit. Bankruptcy for business. Unemployment. State and local governments winding down spending. Collapsing tax revenues.
At its CORE, folks, the world is going to come to terms with an EXTREME shortage of goods and services once the credit card stops working. Everyone in the world is going to feel ROBBED. Politicians will be looking for someone to BLAME. People are going to feel let-down and violence, theft and a general loss of social order could easily break down. People may very well just see their livelihoods break down and decide to just go ahead and rob the vaults. We have no idea wtf is going to happen, but this shortfall of resources is not going to be taken lightly when people are scrimped and saved and invested their entire lives only to pay off their 30 year mortgage and student loans only to have the bottom drop out of the system. Paper millionaires are going to be feeling entitled and everyone up and down the line is going to be looking for EVERYTHING and ANYTHING that is not nailed down. If you feel wronged, don't be expecting any court to be upholding your claims anytime soon. This hot-potato is going be be burning RED HOT.

It kind of depends on how you sell. Ebay for instance will charge you something like 12% of the sale price, and you have to pay shipping, too. Protip: list shipping separately - ebay doesn't grab from that. If you are selling limited-run pieces like coins or art, your hope is at least that two bidders really want your item, and they bid competitively. If it's generic crap, your better bet might be the local coin store. They'll offer you below spot, but it's done and over with. My LCS actually has set markups/downs, and it's in the 5% range each way.

Has anyone here ever bought from celticgold.eu? I'm new to this and looking to invest into gold to save a part of my savings from inflation, and they have better prices than europeanmint.com. However, while most reviews say they are highly reputable, I found 2 saying that they cancel orders during price fluctuations so they can charge higher premiums.

That Ruthenium isn't mine unfortunately. I own a generic Ruthenium pellet and small square with no markings. Those are really cool though, Pamp made 1000 Ruthenium bars a year ago for the first time.

For the real crazy stuff you buy industrial suppliers, the odd ebay find or suppliers like here https://www.reddit.com/r/Wallstreetosmium/wiki/index/sourcing

Important to do due diligence though. Osmium powder is incredibly toxic so do not buy that for example.

Interesting osmium data. So only 2.1 cubic meters of osmium has been mined.

According to this site one cubic cm of osmium is 22.59 grams
https://luciteria.com/metal-cubes/osmium-cube

So 47.4 tons of osmium exists. That's about 1.7 million oz of osmium with a market price of as little as 680 million dollars.

That's kinda crazy how small the market is. Too bad that you need gloves to actually touch it because it's toxic.

The powder is very toxic for sure, f that shit. Its the oxide that is toxic to be specific. I think arc melted beads, crystals are pretty safe. There are people making jewelry out of it.

I hear arc melted lead fishing weights are safe too lmao. imo a metals toxicity is a no go, literally the stuff of legends about cursed rocks and shit. Fuck that, being able to fondle my shiny with no risk of toxicity is a big deal.

Osmium is a specific example. I wouldn't conflate it with other metals.

>>50313311

Yeah stuff like Osmium isn't for everybody. I wouldn't go near the powder unless I was a processor making beads and stuff for 3x markup. Scary stuff.

They all literally have the exact same price dude. The ones that don't are out of stock or sell junk silver. Im betting on resale value not the spot price for the future
