People do. Garage sales, flea markets, thrift shops, even dumpster diving can be profitable.
It's a lot of work though and it's easy to get overwhelmed with a bunch of junk. Somewhere between Sanford and Son and Hoarders. Eventually you burn out and either get rid of it or lose your sanity.

I do this as a part-time thing for some extra money and really the only problem is that your tricks always get cucked or overpopulated eventually. You basically need to always find or hear secondhand about new methods

I use to do this with estate sales but they all started getting run by companies. Those companies seriously look up everything on eBay and sell -15 to 20 percent leaving no room for profit. It’s fucking stupid because they reach .05 percent of eBay customers and sell nothing then keep all the shit and sell it themselves on eBay. Really fucking over their customers. I keep thinking I should open an estate sale company
