Pretty much.
We're at a pretty crucial point though. If the greater markets fall then all of the Uranium companies are going to blast through their supports and drop 20-30% from here.
I'm DCA in because the entire sector has already taken at least 50% beating from the highs earlier this year, so now is a pretty good time to start getting in.
Especially if the markets rally from here, then we're headed up and fast.

>>50151706

You can basically throw money at any of them that's not utter shit and you'll get more or less the same results.
The entire field is only like 30 Bil in size and has like 60 companies to choose from. Leave out the explorers without any hits and you're probably looking at just 30 companies.
Buy one that's not an explorer and you're good for at least 10x from here, probably way more though. Largest ones are CCJ, NXE, UEC, DNN, UUUU.

Oil and uranium are not going anywhere. Wind is inconsistent and the blades cannot get recycled. Solar needs a ton of land. Hydro destroys huge areas to flood it. Not to mention the huge resource and energy costs for it. ESG is a meme.
The more we move to green, the less efficient the net energy generated was. Look how many rolling blackouts are in the midwest. Look how Texas froze last winter. Oil and gas and uranium are never going away.
The more ESG we get the more reliance we have on big oil. And even if uranium crabs for another decade, I can happily write options to people that think otherwise

Here's an easy way to conceptualize it.
You and a baker each have a pizza, cut into 8 slices. There are 16 slices in the "pizza economy". You could eat it, or you can give a slice to your friend to make him do work for you or buy shit off of him for pizza. No problem. You both own 50% of the economy.
But then the baker snaps his fingers and goes and makes 98 more pizzas (at no cost to him). You now have 1% of the economy and he has 99% of it. He can outbid you on anything. You want to buy the beer (house) from your friend? You offer one slice. Baker offers 3 slices. This happens every time you want to buy something and you get priced out. What happens when the baker runs low on pizza? He just prints more pizzas. He makes another 100. You now have 0.5% of the wealth in the economy.
Just imagine this on a massive scale. Every time more pizzas are printed, you lose money instantly, irreversible, and invisibly.

taxation does not decrease the money supply. it just redistributes cash from you to the government, which will spend it again.
if you were to bump up the tax, several inflation measures would most likely indicate aspects of deflation because people are less reluctant to spend cash, but that money would still find its way back into the economy through the things that governments spend money on, so this is more of a short-term lever.
lowering the tax works the same way, except that less money flows to the causes that governments spend money on and more to the people, which is also not unlimited and capped by their wages (another factor in short term inflation control).

>Is the Phillips curve dead? If so, who killed it? Conventional wisdom has it that the sound monetary policy since the 1980s not only conquered the Great Inflation, but also buried the Phillips curve itself. This paper provides an alternative explanation: labor market policies that have eroded worker bargaining power might have been the source of the demise of the Phillips curve. We develop what we call the “Kaleckian Phillips curve”, the slope of which is determined by the bargaining power of trade unions. We show that a nearly 90 percent reduction in inflation volatility is possible even without any changes in monetary policy when the economy transitions from equal shares of power between workers and firms to a new balance in which firms dominate. In addition, we show that the decline of trade union power reduces the share of monopoly rents appropriated by workers, and thus helps explain the secular decline of labor share, and the rise of profit share. We provide time series and cross sectional evidence.

When captcha is 5 digits, that input does all the work by itself. The only reason the wheels are there is so you can adjust any letter that might be wrong and it's usually correct so you don't have to do anything but press submit. It's impressive how accurate it is especially considering the supposedly ML trained greasemonkey script that is wrong more often than it's right. Also tablet posting is comfy :)

there are other means by which a government could theoretically generate revenues that are not taxes. for instance, the finnish government owns company shares. it could also generate profits from nationalized companies. it could also massively reduce spending. in all these cases, in sufficient scale, there mustn't be infinite inflation just because there are no taxes.

in any case: taxes do not "get worthless paper out of circulation". the author is quite simply wrong.

The goal of TIPS is to match inflation so what you are really doing is making a savings account. Which isn't a bad idea for most people since savings account rates are so trash and many brokers now also offer debit cards.

What I've taken away is that i do not have enough base capital to risk on contractual speculation - at my current level I prefer the comfort and control of owning stock. Secondly, I am not yet smart/comfortable enough to read market movements/patterns to effectively utilize options trading in principle. IV is pretty simple. It's just an estimate based on current market conditions of the likely annualized 1 standard deviation move expressed as a percentage. Think of a 1 sd move as "well that was expected". 2 sd would be "surprising" and 3+ is "wtf lolo".
Vega is the amount the option price moves based on a 1% change in IV. So if the option is $10 and vega is 0.1 then IV lowers by 1% you can expect the option to be $9.90 all else being equal. If you go to https://marketchameleon.com/ you can look at historical volatility and the graph there will tell you if IV is currently high or low. If IV is high and you're betting on a rebound of the underlying stock then IV will likely lower causing the option to lose some value from vega

Sure. Using the black-scholes model, you can calculate the fair price of a contract and the greeks using known information (strike, tte, etc). Volatility is the only thing that isn't known. You either have the IV and solve for price, or you have the price and solve for IV. In other words, the current market pricing determine the volatility, and the volatility determines the theoretical market price.

Because volatility isn't known until trades happen, you can see how closely it's priced to an asset's historical volatility. Eg, if some bio company has a HV of like 80%, and the a given option's price/time/etc results in an IV of like 230%, that means that option is overpriced.
But then you can ask: "why?" You can look into option flows, short volumes, news, macro etc, to see why people are overpricing the contract. It could be people selling calls at a high premium against low volume for income, or it could be an insider.

There is SO MUCH information you can learn from options, and for a variety of trading styles. They're a tool, and it's worth learning them from a variety of styles
