Don't be afraid to take risks - I've applied for hundreds of jobs, had countless interviews, left a secure job to go contracting as I needed money for a deposit for a house, got laid off, hired again, left for better contract, etc etc.

A few years ago I was poisoned by the NHS and thought it was going to kill me. I'm much less scared of death now. You need to come to terms with it. Face it head on! Next time you have an uncomfortable thought don't push it away - keep going with it, make it even worse, take it as far as you can. And then see how you feel. If you wait a little time, your panic will subside. So is it really that scary?
