I don't know man, zoomers are leaving behind leftism en masse, or at least the boys are. They're the ones who grew up during the "SJW Cringe Compilation", "Ben Shapiro OWNED X with Facts and Logic", and Jordan Peterson eras of youtube fads.

And the reason millennials turned out to be so liberal was as a reaction to their conservative christian boomer parents whom they had pretty bad relationships with all around, as well as a reaction to Bush and the catastrophes his presidency brought. Meanwhile, Zoomers grew up with Obama, and snarky, smarmy, liberal bot Generation X parents. The pendulum is swinging with them. You'll see,

No, 28 isn't a fucking zoomer. It's tail-end millennial that likely shares some zoomer traits, depending on your socialization. There are proper zoomers (like 25) who have genuine millennial ethos, and there's some people even pushing 30 who try to co-opt zoomie culture (it's giving geriatric-millennial to me, y'all) but there's no way 28 is a proper zoomie.

9/11 is one thing, but I honestly think zoomers, more than anything, were the kinda post-facebook generation.

To me, it has to do with how social media-integrated you were, for those born that late-90's grey area. If you were an early adopter babby of facebook, smartphones, vines, etc. you're definitely a zoomer. If you were late to that boat, or even never adopted them (during your formative years), you're definitely millennial. I didn't even get a smartphone until I was 18, I only had a brick Nokia, and that was at 14. Didn't own a phone, a laptop, etc. Many such cases among my peers as well.

They're leaving behind cringe millennial we're-going-to-change-the-world-by-blogging-about-it leftism, but for the most part, nothing is replacing that engagement. Zoomies are more conservative in comparison but only because apolitical disengagement due to a lack of individual political efficacy is more conservative than GirlBrain pearl-clutching and strongly-worded Instagram story-shares.

There's the tradcath, borderline neofash zoomies, and there's the completely pozzed genderfuck Leftist-means-trans-rights zoomies but both of those are outlier fringe groups. The prototypical zoomer has a number of "liberal" ideas baked in (like gay marriage, and gay people, just completely unquestioned) but basically believes conspicuous political engagement is a symptom of mental illness. They're atomized.

Sample sizes, survey areas, and target demographics can wildly swing any social survey you could possibly take. If I were told those surveys were made in New York or LA, then it'd be a no-brainer. basically. my only critiques would be that late 90's is zoomie by definition, mid-90's is up to the individual tendency. Zoomies only had a brief taste of facebook if that. I think the key period is when snapchat was destroying facebook marketshare, and so zuck co-opted as many snapchat features as possible into instagram.

The youngest possible "millennial" is like, a 25 (MAYBE 24) year old who grew up in an extremely conservative, sheltered household and didn't get a cellphone until age 18. You can tell the difference in the way they text. Millennial texts are... Well, like my posts, overwrought. But even zoomies with triple-majors from prestigious schools text like fucking retards.

borderline Gen X'er here (born in 1980) and can confirm. Being a kid in the 80's was full of unsupervised outdoor play, bike rides and over all adventure with friends. Being a teen in the 90s was witnessing the birth of the modern internet, great video games and music and nothing like social media or smart phones to fuck everything up. 2000s were pretty cool too. The thing I find weird about these generational deadlines is that there doesn't seem to be much that characterises either generation. A lot of the problems that 18 year olds complain about now are literally the same problems me and my cohort faced at the same age, in fact I'd say most of those have gotten easier. I remember people were worried about teenager self-harm, prescription drug abuse and suicide, particularly since all three were so popular on social media. I had transgender classmates although unlike today people weren't obsessed with them, and the only kids that got called gay were the closet cases who all came out after high school. The only thing that's really changed is that lockdowns have made kids want to leave their houses again, something I haven't seen in years. By the time I was 17 teenagers had stopped leaving the house entirely to be on their computers and now 10 years later those teenagers are finally back on the streets.
