I'm noticing the local car dealers used inventory is swelling up. Cars are sitting on the lot for a long time. What is happening, any insides?

Borrowing rates are going up + higher gas prices disuading people to drive + JPOW demanding a recession and people to lose their jobs + FAAG Megacorps being brazen about dropping employees and everyone else following along.

You don't need to be an insider to see current trends playing out.
>cash for clunkers program wipes out a large amount of good quality used vehicles
>global chip shortage impacts automakers so used market gets hit even harder
>prices of used vehicles go through roof, dealers still can't keep a stock
>gas prices suddenly explode upwards, people used to $3 gas suddenly paying $4.50-$5
>used car dealers are taking in all they stock they can to keep up with the demand
>suddenly all the people who would normally be interested in buying a used car don't want to get a vehicle anymore
You are here.
>used car dealers eventually lower prices to attract customers, might be able to get a working and street-legal vehicle for less than $2,000 again

It's nothing compared to new vehicles. Numbers for Q1 + Q2 dropped yesterday : -40% in sales of new vehicles in France (oui i'm a frog).
We are like the 4th largest automaker in the world.
Meanwhile, 20+ yo literal garbage cans on wheel keep appreciating. You can't find anything below 2000€ nowaday.

What will the automakers/car dealers do with all this inventory? New cars are all costing north of 20K€, the vast majority of ppl can't afford them anymore..
Will they destroy it? Make a fire sale? Ask the gubment for gibs / bribe them to buy it all with public spending (giving them to cops, firefighters, postal services, government employees,..)??

Every day when i commute to work, i pass alongisde one of those giant parking from car manufacturers. It's chokeful of cars, and it's spilling from every corner, they are parking them in the fields who are close by, it stretches beyond the line of sight. I've never seen such thing before.
Super spoopy stuff frens... Hold me pls i'm scared.
