Pretty much, yeah. There was a secondary effect of remote work/lockdowns pumping demand too.

I'm amazed people are surprised by this. I wouldn't be surprised if NVDA is back at $50 (equiv to $200 pre-split) within the next 6 months.
Somehow the same people that think oil will flop over in the next 12 months have priced this semi super-cycle out to infinity.

The easiest and least life altering way to be physically disqualified is to go partially deaf in one or both ears, that's how my uncle avoided the Vietnam draft (he played in a few bands and blew out his ears).
Also you may be able to convert to a religion that forbids violence, that should keep you home unless shit really hits the fan.
Also in the US you can't be drafted if you're an only child (or possibly if you're the only male child, I haven't looked in to it since Afghanistan), and I think college students are exempted so crack open those books, kiddo.

I suspect millions of NEETs will upgrade their machines en masse to play their favorite MMOs again. Unless of course there is more political action around midterms. IF there are protests and Twitter fights and anger in the streets again, all those nerds and NEETs will be distracted again and will not upgrade their PCs. Fuck, why am I even talking. You might be right about this considering places like Activision/Blizzard, but there's no way gamers will ever let it die. You gotta be kidding me if you think all those players who played World of Warcraft, RuneScape and CS:GO the past five years are just going away. They aren't. And again, I'm referncing my own experience and the experience of the people I've played in MMO guilds with. But I'm telling you, we were very active in 2008 and the many years following up til now.

Losing money. Clearly everyone is losing money. Cyberpunk was a major flop. Trannies are fucking up Blizzard on the daily. Spotify too. They're firing people for speaking up about "trans rights" and shit if they fire off an email to boycott the CEO or some other heinous shit. Basically the trannies are overstepping their bounds and the CFOs are finally looking at the bottom dollar and pointing with big hard fingers, saying, "See?" And they're firing.

Yeah, the fan-made Blood expansion is my favorite single-player FPS experience of the last few years.

This was the same narrative when I rode NVDA from $80 to $300 back in 2017-2018. It's a good story, but every story has a price. Since then, all that's changed is P/S multiple expansion and a lot of temporary crypto revenue.
For this recent 2020/2021 bubble, I just went right into crypto since it's all the same bullshit factor trade anyway.

From the moment she came into view, I knew she was trouble. Her plunging red candles showed more than a glimpse of swollen inflation numbers, a quick glance lower showing a swaying support ready to turn into a smothering overhead resistance. Throw in an unruly sentiment [consumer sentiment, that is] and you've got something that would lead even the strongest willed of men to a quick capitulation.

She wasn't an ordinary market correction. But then again, I'm not an ordinary investor. The name's Slurper. Dip Slurper. Everyone has their role to play in this market, and for me, that role is buying. When retail, institutions, even the Fed turn their back on you, I'm the man you can count on - for the right price, of course. Judging by the looks of this broad [market drawdown, that is], I was going to have my hands full for a long time. Old Man Powell sure is letting a lot slip through the cracks lately (not that I'm surprised - that bastard's been flaky ever since the Rape Hike Incident in '21).

One thing's for sure - I'm going to get to the bottom of this situation, in one way or another.

In theory, longer term competition will balance out and integrate similar efficiencies until they've reduced the profit margin back to zero.

In reality, everyone tries to monopolize their tech/brand/network/platforms and extend their profit runway forever at the cost of the greater good of society.

SOXL - Black Swan Scenario (1 / 3)

PRC planners align their irregular assault on Taiwan to take place during a projected space weather event (solar activity impacts can be predicted up to two weeks in advance). To avoid suspicion, a large number of forces would already be in the region due to monthly military exercises.

With global awareness about pending impacts to electrical grids, GPS, and a host of systems that utilize the electromagnetic spectrum (EMS), the Chinese military would begin a massive EMS operation against critical infrastructure in Taiwan to degrade various services (e.g., internet, cellphones, electricity, etc.). Simultaneously, China would selectively restrict data flow in its Pacific undersea cable networks and the twenty-one undersea cables connected to Taiwan. With Taiwan isolated and many services denied, disabled, and degraded on the island, cyber and EMS operations would target and spoof military and civilian radars and GPS tracking capabilities. This would enable commercial aircraft and civilian ships—each filled with “Little Red PRCs” (covert Chinese troops wearing Taiwanese livery and Red Cross patches)—to quietly land and dock at the twenty-two airports and thirteen seaports across Taiwan.

As these “Little Red PRCs” egress their aircraft and ships, a massive sociopolitical-information warfare campaign about a dangerous viral outbreak in Taiwan would spread across Taiwanese social media and also on Twitter accounts in the United States and Europe. Chinese EMS operations would align with influence operations in sending out an official looking text message from the ROC government telling everyone to shelter in place due to a medical crisis. Such actions would include fake news and deep fakes inserted into Taiwanese news websites and social media to make the humanitarian crisis appear real to citizens and international observers.

SOXL - Black Swan Scenario (2 / 3)

Specific Taiwanese government, military, and infrastructure-associated individuals considered critical to certain operations would receive large Bitcoin payments from PRC agents as “United Front work” to enable ease of access to certain systems and prepare for follow-on governance.

With the “Little Red PRCs” rapidly seizing critical government facilities, radio, and TV stations; air and seaports; and materiel depots; reports of Taiwanese unrest begin to leak. Initial reports from the international community show troops in ROC uniforms wearing Red Cross patches on their shoulders and driving around in military vehicles with Red Cross flags appearing to have the situation well in hand. These early successes inspire Taiwanese turncoats to assume positions in the new government of Taiwan to negotiate its unification treaty.

To slow the U.S. response, PRC cyber warriors hack and corrupt the RAPIDS ID system, while crippling DEERS by revoking all CAC certificates, making it impossible for any Department of Defense (DoD) personnel to access their work computers and emails. Moreover, to undermine U.S. Indo-Pacific Command’s confidence, PRC agents leak more real and fake “Fat Leonard” documents targeting U.S. Navy ship captains closest to Taiwan. The DoD (and other Western militaries) scramble to understand the fait accompli in Taiwan

SOXL - Black Swan Scenario (3 / 3)

With the international community struggling to leverage instruments of power (i.e., diplomatic, information, military, and economic) to respond to Chinese aggression, multinational corporations—heavily reliant on Taiwanese semiconductors—begin heavily lobbying Western political leaders to accept Chinese domination because over half of the world’s semiconductors are produced in Taiwan. PRC leadership promises to immediately begin producing and exporting cheap semiconductors to countries not sanctioning Mainland China. Foreseeing tremendous economic damage and a lack of public interest in mobilizing the military for a risky Taiwanese intervention, U.S. and international leaders acquiesce to the socially and digitally constructed reality: Taiwan is now under PRC control.

It just so happens political bullshit is his particular niche and is audience is dumb zoomers (so naturally, he's a woke "socialist"). I don't even dislike these people anymore, because they're by far the lesser evil. Really, the pay-piggies deserve to get bleed dry. Redditors from r/socialism throwing mommy and daddy's money at this guy is a karmic win in the grand scheme of things.

In a black swan like this, SOXL could become a penny stock. Assuming the fund survived, I'd go all in. I highly doubt chinks have the the ability to pull a Metal Gear Solid like this. If they were like the Japanese in culture and character, I could definitely see it happening, but they aren't. Most likely outcome would be traditional prolonged violent conflict (due to ZOG's military industrial complex) which is extremely bearish for SOXL. If they sell off Futures and gap the market down closing both SPY and AAPL from 2 weeks ago its literally going to mark the bottom with a higher low leading into the 2nd half of the year.
