It will be like both of them combined 10x. I have 2 recruiter friends (1 in tech and the other in consulting and finance, think investment banking and private equity) and they told me that companies enacted hiring freezes back in January and that they don't know why mainstream media outlets kept pushing "COMPANIES ARE HIRING LIKE CRAZY BUT THERE'S NO ONE TO HIRE, THEY'RE DESPERATE AND GIVING OUT PERKS AND BONUSES OUT THE ASS!!!" narrative. They have basically been out of a job themselves for 6 months now and have already starting rescinding prelim offers that are called "ear whisper" offers they made candidates back in March. The horizon looks grim. I'm legitimately fearful of what lies ahead. I'm 35 and experienced 2008 first hand (my parents were laid off and they lost the house and I started off in the workforce in late 2009 going into 2010.
