Currently Russia has 20billion in Canadian Government bonds, which Trudeau and Jagmeet say they are going to seize to pay for "ukrainian re-construction" (which in itself is laughable, what they really mean, is they will pay thier buddies to do make work jobs in Ukraine, like Haliburton in Iraq, .... its just another rip off, a way to funnel that money to thier political donors).

But it gets better. What are countries like China gonna think, when we decide unilaterally to just seize Russian Central bank money cause they did somethign we dont like. I've heard stories of Russian and Chinese military leaders and political leaders having warehouses filled to the brim with tons of gold and silver, ready to switch the monetary system to a gold backed one as soon as an opportune moment presents itself.

Russia has already transitioned the ruble to a fractional reserve currency with Gold as it's fractional backing but they're waiting for the go-ahead from China to go all in.

China doesn't quite want to do it right now because they think the US economy can afford to bleed a bit more and the killing blow will be more effective when the debt burden is high enough, and international confidence is low enough, that dropping the USD as a reserve currency will cause an unrecoverable death spiral for the US.
