However, nuggets are seemingly scattered at random, i ve been getting lots of fine gold, but only 3 nuggets so far for the work done. Also I believe that central banks will always have the last laugh by repricing gold as they have historically done.

modern pennies or historic pennies? Modern pennies are probably going to go up in value as zinc gets more valuable, same goes with the copper in historic pennies, but i dont know if its worth stacking them. I mean you could do the smart thing and buy a big earthenware plant pot and bury a few hundred thousand pennies in it and they would be a hoard in a century or two but i dont think its worth it right now.

zinc is a critical metal which is getting more difficult to find in bulk quantities. New discoveries are down, and mine building is only getting more expensive. Zinc and copper often come from similar deposit types (porphyrys) but actually getting them out of the ground is heading for a crunch. Zinc concentrate is down across the board this year and last year, we need more of it for EVs and other green tech, but we wont have enough to go around soon.

From my uneducated standpoint, zinc seems to be quite undervalued compared to copper, at least by a factor of 2.
Copper have a native abundance of 60ppm in the earth crust, while it's 70ppm for zinc. So zinc is a bit more abundant, but not by much, around 15%. Meanwhile, the price per ton is $3,450 for zinc and $8,350 for copper!!

Btw, if abundance was the only criteria for determining the price of metals (of course it's not, but lets entertain the thought), a kilo (32oz) of zinc is $3.45, and it's exactly x1000 more abundant than silver (70ppm vs 0.07ppm).
If it were as rare as silver, a kilo of zinc would cost $3,450 at the current price, while silver is currently $640/kg.... Inversely, if silver was to be as abundant as zinc, it would cost $0.64 per kilo...
Comparatively to their rarity, silver is over x5 cheaper than zinc.
Really make you (((think))), doesn't it?

>The Renaissance
Ancient texts and artworks were and other “Byzantine” items that came out of Constantinople. Especially artwork which led to new ideas inspired by the old. If your trying to imply I think that ancient people were retarded, your barking up the wrong tree. And if you want to imply that art had died between AD 476 and AD 1453, your an idiot. The West was in relative chaos for the 3 centuries after the fall of Rome. Much of these “new” artworks equals, were destroyed. Unlike in the East. And to call these technical texts “pagan” just because their authors were and not because they were literal religious texts, is as retarded as calling the manual of a Ford Model T a Christian text, just because Henry Ford was a Catholic.

To be honest, I can't remember anything she told me about them. I get the feeling that they weren't particularly special though, just something she'd picked up at one time, came across when going through her things, and decided to pass down rather than holding onto them until death.
They're all from this set: https://franklin-mint-silver.com/franklin-mint-bicentennial-ingots.htm
I have numbers 15, 21, 28, 30, and 60.

Remind me of our euro cents : electroplated with copper, iron core.
But they stopped producing the 1c and 2c anyway, since even iron is now worth more than euro cents...
It's literally impossible to debase more our money while keeping a physical medium (80% of transactions are done via CCs here anyway), beside maybe producing some tiny plastic tokens and then pretend it's money?

Those silver coins in cases are called proof coins. They are rare minted coins that are given extra care when being made. This means they cost way more than what standard bullion coins cost to make. For more information on proof coins watch this video. Even though it is talking about sovereigns, the video goes into detail the steps mints do to make a proof coin.

Anons, what is silver and gold commodity futures and options? Is it a good way to buy silver and gold? Do you have those things in your country?

>> No.50017689

>>50017655
>futures
Certificates that bet on the future price changes of the commodity. Bear certificates bet that the price will go down, and bull certificates bet that the price will go up. They have what's called "leverage", which represents the power at which the price of the certificates develop according to the underlying asset, e.g. a x10 bear certificate will go up 10% in value every time the underlying commodity goes down 1% in value.
>options
What's called "paper gold/silver/etc". Basically, you trade IOU's that say you have a right to a set amount of that commodity, but it's near impossible to get any of it out of the exchanges. They basically exist to flood the markets and bring the prices down while making it easier to manipulate.

i might be in the market to buy some gold, i'm trying to get some info

i'm not here for profit, just keeping my buying power stable

couple of questions
-need help finding a reputable seller for my country (italy), apparently gold is VAT-free so that's what i'm looking for
-how do i identify a good deal, i'm assuming i have to compare it to the spot price in the OP, but how much over premium should i look for a good deal? less than 2%? less than 1%?
-same thing in the other direction, how much can i realistically sell compared to spot price?
-no need for sentimental value, i just want slow and steady, eg. i would like to avoid buying a country-specific something and lose value because in 10-years time that country is a shithole and that drives the price down, if that's a thing
-pro & cons of bars v bullion v coin?

You better have a lot of money to do this. Futures contracts are settled daily, so your margin account gains/loses money in real time. Very easy to put you in margin territory when you are controlling 5000 ounces of silver in a single contract. The violent moves down that we see all the time are the banks literally shaking out speculators and investors and telling them to fuck off and go away.

Yeah, the rest of the world was an impoverished bombed-out shithole while Americans were enjoying unbridled prosperity so the numismatic hobby grew very strong here, basically unchecked since the 1850s. Europlebs were burning Gutenberg Bibles for heat and selling medieval suits of armor for scrap while Americans were trying to figure out what to do with all their free time and spare cash, and a lot of it was poured into collecting our coinage. I agree that better "value" can be found elsewhere but some US coins are really cool.

I definitely own some of these speculative miners, and it hurts seeing the price get suppressed this bad because the penny stocks really feel the crunch. Unfortunatley most of my stack I sold off to be a stupid idiot in his 20s. Even comparing my stack today compared to the buying opportunities back then is pretty sad. My old receipts show I was buying Cull Morgans for $12.99 each. Junk Silver at 12FV. I was even doing stupid risky shit when silver collapsed to 12 in July 2009 by maxing out credit cards and then flipping most of it back to the LCS to scalp out 20oz for free etc. Buying ounces of gold sub $900 was also a gift.
I work 7 days a week now, also to afford more silver. The inflation we were warned about in 2008 never truly manifest itself as it is right now, and with the end of the Petro dollar, we appear to be nearing the end game for real this time. No telling what sort of time frame this could play out on, maybe even a few more years depending on international cooperation.

You will never be a currency. You have no utility, you have no anonymity, you have no inherent value. You are a glowie psyop twisted by hype and FOMO into a crude mockery of boomer rock perfection.

All the “mooning” you do is unsustainable and half-hearted. Behind your back people mock you. Your investors are disgusted and ashamed of you, your “promoters” laugh at your ghoulish appearance behind closed doors.

Peter Schiff is utterly repulsed by you. Thousands of years of economic history have allowed Schiff to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even cryptos that “have utility” look uncanny and unnatural to Schiff. Your lack of an atomic structure is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get a rig operator to “mine” you, he’ll turn tail and dump his bags the second he gets a whiff of your diseased, infected volatility.

You will never be useful. You wrench out a fake chart every single morning and tell yourself it’s going to be ok, but deep inside you feel the futility creeping up like a weed, ready to crush you under the unbearable weight.

Eventually it’ll be too much to bear - you’ll get hacked, replaced, wiped out by a solar flare, or cracked by a supercomputer. Your investors will find you, heartbroken and ashamed that they no longer have anything to eat but bugs. They’ll house themselves in a pod marked with a Disney logo, and every passerby for the rest of eternity will know a crypto investor is housed there. Your cost will decay and go back to the dust, and all that will remain of your legacy are some writings that are unmistakably hilarious.

This is your fate. This is what Goldman Sacks chose. There is no turning back.

I agree. $21 with premiums dropping is likely as good as it is going to get. A flash crash below $20 will not last long as it will likely come with instability and most metals dealers will be hoarding their supplies again.

One other thing I'm trying to recall but I can't find notes on is I think MintAnon said the serial numbering starts from #000 which he's retaining, so that should mean there's a #001 out there in circulation if so, and the last number should be #624.

Also you need to note on Numista that this is Bog Coin A, and there's planned to be a Bog Coin B. "A" and "B" designations was something I made up to call them by, I don't think MintAnon ever gave them designations officially.

Silver is the reddit-mineral that will never go up. Boomers have lived and died waiting for the metal to get any sort of gains. It's not really that rare or special, and gets replaced all the time in industry. Nobody is making mirrors out of silver anymore, they rarely even use it in solar panels anymore. It has no place in electric car batteries, and will continue to not have any until maybe there is a performance/ricer scene for them(which is unlikely since Teslas are locked down and only last about 6-8yrs anyway)

Almost nothing will happen to the metals market until the stock market crashes, or the 'big one' which is a collapse of the banks & the bond market. Silver and gold trade within a range, as do all currencies, based on agreements between nations and central banks.
At some point, supply and demand will overrun the metals market as more and more capital begins to flow into physical. But for now, the catalyst is not knocking at the the door just yet.

The inflation rate vs the size of the bond market, however, is a MAJOR hazard for the entire industry. Again, things hum along like normal because the biggest owners of sovereign debts include banks, insurance companies (us), and foreign central banks. - All of which are 'playing ball' and have fallen in line to keep the charade going.
Make no mistake about it. None of this is 'normal'. Shit is going to collapse in a sweeping wind of bankruptcy, inflation, and collapsing real estate values and foreclosures as unemployment pulls us into a deflationary depression. The American consumer is bankrupt, and there are not enough high paying manufacturing goods to keep everyone afloat. The "service" economy needs to be dismantled and reassembled into one of savings and production and EXPORTS.

Never said don't buy silver you schizo, just the platinum is being used to dull interest in gold specifically. It's a byproduct being marketed as an alternative. Gold and silver have a significant amount of history behind them and will always be the right choice. Don't stack just one or the other, diversity in this case is a good thing. I'm nearing 40 pounds of silver with not even a handful of gold so far. But when it comes to the real memes like platinum and rhodium really try to limit yourself since they're essentially novelty items. Or fuck my opinion and go all in on some fantasy squeeze. May as well go with crypto if you're just here to gamble on moonshots.

also, if 6000 SIM cards is 0.09g (gold), then one SIM card is like 0.00009g so 0.0001g and that is more valuable than 1g because if one is that then 2-3 is 0.00011g or so and that means you can add to a stack of .9g of gold 0.011 - 0.0011 , 0.00011 etc for that .9g of gold, as when youre getting thousands of SIM cards you can start to add .1 of a SIM card etc. to the stack, to stack that. and each 1 SIM card of those .1 SIM cards costed its own part of the transport, for the .9g of gold which is a part of more gold and on-to infinity
