Monopolies are never good from a user perspective. Neutral at best, usually worse. They're overrated from an investment perspective too - an innovator or cost leader in a competitive industry is often a better choice. There are many forms of "moats".

Anyway, my issues with Apple are almost endless..
To start, it can be frustrating visiting an itoddler and they only have those shit lightning charger cables lying around. Thank god EU did something useful for once and is enforcing USB-C as the one true standard going forward.
Every single product they offer is overpriced for a comparable feature set that competitors make.
They actively remove useful features like headphone port and external SD cards, just so they can charge more for internal storage or sell their own overpriced earbuds (that don't even have good sound quality, by the way).
They literally program their phones to go slower over time.
They faked protecting users privacy just to roll out their own tracker.

Note that Apple isn't even a real monopoly, just that they pursue monopolistic lock-in and anti-competitive features like their app store restrictions. There's really nothing stopping people from leaving apple trash behind, except their own natural laziness/stupidity.

Utilities are monopolies though, and I have no problem investing in those.

Looking at home prices in my area is fucking depressing. really hoping these interest rate hikes and rising mortgage rates at least means we may get some pull back in the housing market

There are lots of problems with Apple products that a rational consumer would find fault with, but don't. You're forgetting that Apple is a brand, and an unstoppable one. People think of it as a lifestyle to own those products, they even put the fucking sticker they get from their ipad box on the back of their minivan. So they dont care about price or the fact they cant change the battery or any of the other issues. And the fact they are an unstoppable brand will allow them to enter any tech space, for example VR, and effortlessly mog oculus which has already been there developing the entire concept of VR for years, and they will do so because theirs is white and has an apple log on it.
