Last week, the price for gas hit an all-time high average sitting at exactly five dollars a gallon. This trending boycott likens back to April 1997 when the U.S witnessed a somewhat successful boycott seeing as the price per gallon was brought down nearly thirty cents. This change happened overnight, but it was over twenty years ago. Could we repeat the same strategy today? Im tired of getting bent over at the gas station.

Anon. Let me tell you something. Imagine you stated "I want to boycott the sun and it's light". The current you, would recognize that such a statement is retarded. The other anons would respond in a similar fashion. That's an equivalent statement to "let's boycott gas". Gas is necessary for more than A to B commuting. And it's also not going to be replaced by Electricity, even in the future, because I can assure you the world will soon enough realize that EVs pollute more than ICE vehicles, it's just that the pollution is more erratic and is also delegated to third world nations. There's no way to escape this other than using Hydrogen as fuel in cars and that's a few hundred years from happening (the CAD models look good, and they also look unrealistic even with composite materials). The only way out of high gas prices is, like JPM's commodity chief said:
>More investment in both extraction and refineries with legal guarantees that it won't be impeded by governments
>ESG throw into the garbage where it belongs
>Increase redundancy in the independence of juridically risky nations such as China or Russia

That's basically it. Right now, Germany is starting up coal plants to try and combat the energy crisis. Once more, demonizing gas and oil, hurts the environment more than investing in said tech.

Can someone explain to me what's wrong with americans and their gas prices?

Gasoline in Europe is twice more expensive, I don't get why americans make it a big deal for paying about 1$/litre. Weren't americans supposed to be rich as fuck?

It's still cheap as fuck, I remember when I was a kid and the gas prices reached 1€/litre for the first time in my country, my dad didn't give a fuck. Nowadays I'm paying almost 130€ for a full 60L tank and people aren't going out on the streets either.

With that being said, I've dealt with many BMWs and anything pre-2014 is bad, mercedes are way better quality, but honnestly Id just buy a Honda or Toyota simply because its more reliable and gas prices just make no sense anymore, also this current car market is peak inflationary so there is no point in buying really, every car has doubled in price lately.
