Yes, you can have both silver and anything else, including mining stocks and bitcoin, but was it worth it to keep the bitcoin or mining stocks instead of selling at the top and having more physical silver?
The silver price manipulation can easily lead to bankrupting the mining companies, nationalizations can happen too, while the physical metal can only go up, in the worse case it stays the same.
In deeply uncertain times you want stability not risks.

>> No.49951111

>>49950940
ofc owning physical and mining shares are different things. The reasons in your picrel are gay bullshit though. Real reasons not to own miners: 1. Available PM deposits are becoming less and less profitable 2. Inflation while boosting profits also cuts into miners bottom lines via increased cost of inputs.

I own a decent stack of physical, not as much as I'd like but just about as much as I'm comfortable having in my house (cause niggers). Yes I own guns and all that but fact is I do leave my house from time to time.

short term or long term buying?
imo it seems like one would have to act fast on selling platinum/palladium
I'm buying silver/gold long term and just bought a few coins of platinum and palladium so far just to have some.. but if they flew up in price one day, unless you're fast to sell, it may stabilize again after a few weeks, months..? palladium was a lot higher a few months ago already and went down again. and seems they might be a bit more difficult to sell
idk, I never sold any pms just stacking. but I imagine in the future, when silver is a lot higher one could sell a bit back to some dealer for spot price, but palladium seems a lot more rarely sold by dealers and also less private buyers

I wish I were as lucky as you, I've been able to find LMU junk below spot at some of the shops here and from a few deals I've snagged on Ebay, but Semeuse 5 Francs almost always carry a premium wherever I look. Of course, I shouldn't expect cheapies on these sorts of things given that I'm on the other side of the World from France.
Do you only buy 5 Francs for the Bullion or have you splurged on a couple Monaco 5 and 10 Francs just for the fun of it?

>Of course, I shouldn't expect cheapies on these sorts of things given that I'm on the other side of the World from France.
Well yes, as soon as you leave France they get more expensive. It's like US constitutional silver: cheap in the US, quite expensive in France.

>Do you only buy 5 Francs for the Bullion or have you splurged on a couple Monaco 5 and 10 Francs just for the fun of it?
Only 5 Francs semeuse.
I also buy some 5Fr, 2Fr, 1Fr from Switzerland when I see a (very) good deal. And one or two reichsmarks from time to time (but the premium are always massive: 100%+).
Never picked Monaco stuff.

How much does US Silver typically cost in France?
Weirdly the cheapest Silver in the US is Commonwealth Junk, especially lower purity stuff. I got pic related for 50% under spot a couple weeks ago at my LCS, which is an unusually good deal, but it's really easy to find this sort of thing at spot in the US despite it being much less common than US junk.
I suppose this discrepency gave me false expectations of French junk being cheap when I started buying it last year.
>Never picked Monaco stuff.
Even if you aren't into numismatics, I'd recommend buying at least one Monaco 5 Francs just so you can say you have every design of .835 5 Francs that was ever made. Mine only cost $12 and I'm sure you can find one cheaper in France.

reminder to europeans that estonia will require VAT on silver starting next month.. personally placing some large orders the past few days as I'm unsure how prices will look after that
there's more cheap silver but especially the tokelau bull&bear / goddess europa coins in Europe are the cheapest and they're from Estonia so I guess they'll go from 23 to 24-25?

That's terrible anon, a lot of dealers in the US will sell 40% halves below spot they're so worthless (or at least they used to when I last bought some).
>As for the Monaco 5Fr, I checked quickly and they seems to be much more expensive than "semeuse", even in France, 10EUR+.
That's to be expected given how rare they are, they only made 250k of them across all dates, a lower mintage than any of the French 5 Francs.

There is a lot to know about platinum before buying it, but there are good reasons.

Platinum was replaced by palladium as a cheaper alternative, which recently has mooned too hard, incentivizing people to switch back to platinum.

It has low demand and it is usually added to large portfolios to hedge their gold/silver (platinum does well in bull markets/booms).

It is very undervalued given its rarity, cost to mine, and its utility, but it requires a certain environment for it to shine - and this will take at least two years.

Even for a platinum bull, it should not be more than 20% of your PM portfolio. It is not a safe haven asset or store of value.

A commodity bull run is more than just gold/silver doing well. Gold and silver do well at the end of commodity bulls. If you want to ride the entire bull and not just one aspect of it, you need to learn which commodities go parabolic first and in what order.

Coal -> Oil -> Natgas -> Uranium -> Platinum -> Copper, Zinc and Rare Earths -> Gold and Silver

If you know the moves, you can compound your gains. Maybe you have started $100k of gold and silver and you'll come out of the bull with $500k of real estate or cash (if you're able to part with your PMs). I started with $100k of coal and oil equities and I've already turned it into $1 million, and I'm diversifying into the rest of the commodities.

Just do PayPal or XMR, at this point your backers either trust you/willing to take a chance on you, or they don't. Or just fund the project yourself plus whoever was trusting enough to send you cash, and buy a whole bunch of extras to sell at a markup after to those who didn't want to risk it.

IMO you can garner more trust and confidence by posting your /pmg/ coins showing your serials, then at least the /pmg/ minters will know who you are so the backers can feel more confident there's an avenue to track you down if you rug them.

The confidence in these crowd funding platforms is a joke, as shown with the fiasco they put you through. I know from being scammed on Kickstarter before that these platform does jack all against projects that even outright scams their backers by fulfilling nothing, and running. Like Indiegogo was ever going to give us your identity if you rugged us, which is why I say at this point your backers either trust you or not. The consolation is all the /pmg/ minters have moved away from Indiegogo, and you've shown they've made the right choice to do so, so thank you for that at the very least.

>> No.49961136

remember too prices are nuts there, a half ounce of gold may get you less there than here in cash due to their inflated prices. A serious tab like that could also keep someone going for a while until they find more gold, grub staking like that was extremely common in the american west up until the 1920s, you would make a deal with a store owner to set you a line of credit, and in exchange anything you found would go towards both paying off that line of credit and finding more.

>> No.49961176

too add to this, if your the runner for a good sized mining crew down there, your bills are going to be HUGE, so dropping a few ounces on the counter for a tab pays for your groceries, your fuel, your materials like lumber and often your security from the local crime crew. You dont keep the gold because your putting it back to work for you, you only keep enough for hard times.

It's gray and gloomy in the Communist French Califat (NATO / EU / ZOG aligned) a few raindrops are falling.
Few people outside, most of them are very old, some wear the virus-mask. You can feel the humidity in the air, we might get some thunder at one point.
I want to leave.
But the Imams.
They're watching.

At the moment it seems Canadian 800 silver is a very good buy. Pros and cons.
>Pro:
Fractional silver on the cheap.
Easy scaling measures: $5 = 3 ozt
Dimes have boats.
>Con:
Less popular (in the USA).
Less recognized relative to US coin silver.

For those of you who missed the boat on cheap mercs you can find Canadian $5 dime rolls for under $80 USD.

If we're just going by weight it's a terrible deal, but I guess there's something numismatically special about the 2006 coins

whats up pan man, san diego anon here you helped out a few times over the last 2 years. I still never had any luck with waterways or desert detecting, and dont have the space for a drywasher, but metal detecting the beaches, parks have been a gold mine. Not literally yet but I have found multiple 925 pieces already and the treasure hunt is much faster paced than processing a literal ton of earth. Almost daily I see another detectorist pull gold out of the areas I work so it's just a matter of time. The finds so far nearly pay for gas, better than the single numbers of flypoop I was finding before. I do still want to drywash and will probably try to go with a group eventually. What I would be really interested in, but never heard of, is a more formalized mining operation that I could work full days at on weekends occasionally and paid in ore. Probably too many liabilities but would be cool.
