I did that shit for years because I had no choice, and every fucker that moved in with me ended up being a complete shithead who made messes, stank up the house, caused roaches, or would wear shoes indoors whilst stomping loudly. The absolute worst when when a pajeet moved in and he would leave shit stains on everything because he would wipe himself with his hands and not wash them afterwards.
Hell, right now I live on my own in a small apartment which has terrible noise insulation, so any time some fat asshole in the neighboring units walks around, I can hear their fucking footsteps. Not to mention all of the annoying white women who shriek like children and stomp loudly every time the beaners show up with their GrubHub orders.

That's basically what I deal with. I earn a decent salary and live in a really affluent part of the city, but my building attracted all sorts of scum in 2020-2021 when prices dropped due to the chink virus.
The hallways smell like cigarettes and crack from the usual suspects, and everyone has the strange desire to constantly slam doors, drop heavy objects, and stomp on floors constantly.
I'm basically stuck here for the time being due to my job until I can relocate to a different office or get permission to work from home.

as someone who lives in a city 4chan is full of antisocial people who don't like to go out and don't like to spend money. as someone in a city - i go to museums, i go to art installations/venues (popups included), i go to the park to run and work out (there's outdoor gyms there - free, btw), i go out to nice restaurants (michelin star/guide), i go to concerts, i go to events (plenty of free events w/ music, but also cultural events like german beerfest), i go to the many well funded libraries and use the public infrastructure like sidewalks and bike lanes, i also use the subway/bus system because it's not aids here. the other thing is living in a city doesn't preclude you from 'going back out to nature' i go hiking and to national parks all the time because i also have a car. by the way the ratio of women to men here is also incredibly high so it's very easy to get laid by some dumb woke bitch with big titties if you say the right thing. i make enough money to afford it so it doesn't matter for me. you're right, cities aren't for poor people. that doesn't mean they suck

I grew up in a small town in a rural state, and my only real career options back then were Walmart and Home Depot. I moved to the big city to start a new life well over a decade ago, and although it's less fun now compared to 2009, it's certainly more interesting than my old town. Say what you will about onions bugmen and hipster fags, but Barcade is actually fun. I once put down about $15 in quarters playing the original TMNT machine a while back.

i'm currently co-tenants with people i specifically choose, a white-passing hispanic and korean girl here in NYC. the neighborhood is nice and quiet but still near a very convenient train line, 25 minutes from 14st union sq. we have about 1400ft^2 apartment including basement with huge backyard, but each pay $1050. my room mates very quiet to the point of almost weird, and they stay in their room too. our basement is mostly just storage boxes, cleaning supplies, so much space we dunno what to do but everyone is thankful for having a relatively cheap, safe and trouble-free apartment. even then, i'll probably end up taking over a 2nd bedroom at some point to use as my office.

The TL;DR is that I was working remotely but got in trouble last year, and my work from home privileges were revoked. I'll have the option to work remotely again in a few months when my probation period is purged.
I didn't quit because I actually really like my job, I earn a decent salary, it's relatively easy, and took me ages to find. Basically it's a dream job, but my minor fuck-up last year hindered my remote work plans.

Well, basically I made a minor error and got in trouble, and put under probation. During that time I proved my worth and they kept me in the company, and my boss even apologized and told me he regretted ever doubting me like that, because I ended up being one of their best workers. He also said he wishes they could just purge my record and let me do what I want, but unfortunately it's company policy.
Believe me, during that brief probation period, I actually did apply for jobs out the ass and landed two interviews for better-paying jobs, but sadly wasn't hired. I mean, I'm comfortable with the company now and my managers all like me, so there's lots of job security and long-term potential: I just have to rough it out for the next few months in this housing crisis.

He's not the boss of the company: he's my personal supervisor in my department. The whole probation thing with a negative record is a companywide policy. I work for a massive Fortune 100 blue chip company, so believe me, I don't want to give this up.
