Pic related is the real wage cage
>All American transit infrastructure (with a couple exceptions like NYC) is designed around cars
>90%+ of Americans cannot work, get food, go shopping, go to the gym, visit friends or family, or do really anything with a car
>You cannot afford to own a car without working, working requires a car, repeat infinitely
>Getting anywhere requires you spend time in a car, often on slow-moving congested roads, filled with other caged wagies
>The more car infrastructure is built (road/highway widening), the worse traffic gets
>The more time you spend in a car the less money you have left over to do anything, the more you need to work
>The more time you spend in a car the less time you have to cook healthy meals, the more you have to rely on drive-thru's to eat
>The more time you spend in a car the more sendentary you become, this causes obesity and limits your non-car mobility. Many Americans could not walk or bike to a local store if they wanted to
>The more obese and unhealthy you get, the more you rely on your health insurance to stave off death. In America this is mostly provided by your employer, so you better not be a ragie wagie or your health insurance is gone
>Now that gas prices have gone up a little bit (they are not even at historic highs), most Americans are on the brink of homelessness because they can't afford to drive
>Despite all of this, Americans will reply in this thread about how building high quality regular public transit like the rest of the developed world is a waste of money because it gets in the way of cars.
>Despite all of this, Americans will reply in this thread about how not owning a car makes you a slave to the government

I didn't even read this because cars are fucking based. I drive around blasting music I like and it's fun. Europoors walk around in the heat hauling groceries like peasants. It is literally no contest and worth the cost

>having to work regular hours and commute
yes, a car is just the first step of the wage cage
>working your own hours, where you like
car is freedom

With that said, the real move is spending the least amount of time doing mindless transport the better. A guy who drives 3000 miles a year is happier than someone that is driving 30000.

In Europe grocery stores are not several miles from your home they are within walking distance and sell high quality low cost produce.

Euro here. I have a car and I use public transportation. Best of both world. Most people have a car in Europe btw.

I guess I'm not that poor in the end.

Euro here. I use a low cost shitbox that i can just scrap when its over and get another 100€ shitbox. I only use it for hauling big luggage or during shit weather. Almost everything is within biking distance. Also i work for the towing service so I absolutely fucking hate cars from the bottom of my soul.

I take the train every day. It'd be quicker to drive but at $6.50 gas I have no reason to. I make roughly 90k and my transportation cost lat month was $285

My train commute to work is less cramped than a car and I don't have to pay attention. I could be drunk or high, it wouldn't matter.

In fact I often go out with coworkers after work to get drinks or get stoned and watch movies. I don't have to drive so I'm free to do whatever I want. I don't have a car so I have several thousand dollars a year extra I can use to enjoy life, go on vacation, save for retirement, etc.

But you are the one enjoying life by staying in a cope cage for hours every day, right? At least I don't have to be near another person, that would be awful, the lonely incel who says tfw no gf to himself every night before going to sleep.

It's also not just the car, it's being forced to drive one everywhere. I know there's the whole HUSTLE AND BUSTLE meme but it has SOME truth to it.

I can walk to the
>gym
>grocery store
>bars I like
>train to work/other neighborhoods
>good restaurants that are pretty cheap
>MLB stadium
All within less than a 10 minute walk. And my rent is 1k/mo even, split with my girlfriend. I have a car if I want to make a longer trip somewhere, but I only use it maybe once a week. And with gas prices where they are it is saving me hundreds, if not thousands per month. Maybe when Im older I move into something bigger but this is pretty good.

Considering that you have to live in high cost of living areas to utilize public transportation, it's not.

Europeans make threads like this because they don't understand how large and spread out the United States are, public transportation only makes sense in high density living areas.

Seething Eurocuck makes a whopping 20K a year as a professional software developer. 75% income tax goes to helping the constant instream of 3rd worlders living fat off the dole. He can barely afford his one bedroom flat and takes his fixie bike to the local grocery store to pick up food for the day. One apple, one egg, 10 packs of cigarettes. That should last the day.

European apartments and townhouses are cheaper than US condos and mcmansions.

I am not even Euro, I am Canadian but it's extremely clear that they have better land use and transit planning and lifestyle altogether.

Yeah but then they have a chunk of a continent all to themselves, they can just drive a little and buy a huge house in the middle of nowhere then if they spot a nigger trespassing they can shoot him.
Here in France I even doubt you can claim self defense if you kill a nigger who just broke into your house and raped your daughter.
