Russian here. I know things are seems bad and uncertain, but believe me, crypto will do just fine.

After sanctions and Visa/MC leaving Russia I use cryptos for payments all the time - I pay for my domains, my VPS that I host my own ShadowSocks on and for Steam balance through crypto. If schmuck like me actually needs it and uses it, then it will be all good frens. Might as well stock up on cheaper coins during the recession.

On the same note, why I never see /biz/ talking about LTC? I pay for everything with LTC. Transaction times are extremely quick, while fees are low.

Most places accept BTC, ETH and LTC. But out of the 3, LTC is only one where fees are just couple of cents and you don’t need to wait forever for confirmation.

To add, I don’t see myself stop using crypto. I guess “it's over” if your are only into crypto as an investor, but for me it’s the only way to pay for services I need as well as store some of my assets away in case my government will decide to rugpull whole nation savings.

Like I am not gonna use Russian registrar or hosting, nor would I trust random PajeetVPN that is sold for $70 for 2 years to use as VPN. So crypto is the only option for me right now.

>> No.49829791

I’ve been telling this board for a long that LTC is best for payments. Low fees actually decentralized and commonly adopted.

>> No.49829926

>>49829791
BCH also seems fine, but not many places accept it. Plus I think low fees for BCH are because of low volumes of transactions.

So far, LTC works great for me - pay for domains on namecheap, pay for my VPS that I use for hosting for my projects as well as personal ShadowSocks, pay for CSGO and Dora 2 items that I then use to sell on Steam Community Market so I can top up my steam balance (because our bank cards stopped working).

It’s even more balance per $ spent than buying with CC. Let’s say I pay $10 in crypto for Dora 2/CSGO item which is usually 30-35% cheaper than market price. Then I lost it on steam market price for $13-14, GabeN takes his 15% cut and I am left with $11-12 of wallet balance for every $10 I paid with crypto.

Phone fagging. Sorry for autocorrect bullshit.

Anyway, crypto will leave, it might be in free fall in 1st world, but in places like Russia since February 2022 it’s pretty much game changer. I suspect similar sentiment for Iranians and other places under US sanctions.

Based OP, you are actually utilizing cryptocurrency for that which it was intended. I agree with you regarding Litecoin, by far the best crypto for actual payments. I'd put XMR a close second.

To be honest though, it sounds like Russia is a little more advanced than the US when it comes to accepting crypto payments. Here it seems like a novelty that goes in an out of fashion. Although I have thought about actually buying a 4chan pass and that requires crypto

Sadly, for services I use XMR is rarely accepted if at all. Plus their wallets are weird to use and don’t work well in user friendly way with normie hardware wallets like Ledger.

When they figure out user experience and ease of use, I might try it. But honestly, I’m Russia people use XMR only for drugs.

I can’t use XMR to pay for my domains, VPS and other shit.

As for Russia - lol no. Most people have no clue how crypto works. I don’t know of any Russian services or online stores that accept any crypto, when internationally I can pay with crypto in relatively many places. Like even namecheap accepts crypto.

It’s same old shit. I don’t judge whole nations or populations by actions of their government or politicians.

Lot of eurocucks hated Americans because of muh Iraq. Same in Russia, they keep pointing to Iraq and justifying our own actions. I always thought it was stupid to blame every American for that. People are individuals, not hive mind.

But most people are stupid and never interact with others outside of their small social bubble. I guess I had different perspective because of online friends from around the world from days when I was a teen.

I guess I try to judge groups of people by the best among them, not the worst.

Retrieve all United States aid and comfort from Ukraine. Stop your war at Russia. If you are a regime, and if you supply aid and comfort in Ukraine then you war Russia. If you are a regime, and if you war Russia then you are not justice warriors. If you retrieve all United States aid, and comfort, from Ukraine then you forfeit war at Russia. You are a regime. Forfeit war at Russia. Retrieve all United States aid, and comfort, from Ukraine. If you are not a regime then publicly declare free for all in both law and also order. If you do not publicly declare free for all in both law, and also order, then expect commensurate justice application within the United States. Rebellion.
I may even rebel against United States regime. United States time slip years off committments. Government employees see masses using wrong dates, and government employees cooperate the wrong date. In time slips, jailed, imprisoned, and probationed endure extra punishment and correction. Punished and corrected are not brought back to court for resentencing nor time served reassement. Release jailed, imprisoned, and probationed at America. I am on probation. Respect me. In time slips, millions dollars disappear out of bank deposits and charity donations. Terrors, tragedies, and failures entail United States is regime or else United States lacks credibility in justice. United States is a regime, and United States lacks just war at Russia.
If you continue assuming United States is not a regime then United States must publicly declare both law, and also order, impossible in our too chaotic world. If both law, and also order, are impossible in our too chaotic world then justice requires strength. Russia is obviously, logically, absolved in exclusive question to Eastern Ukraine for joining Russian Federation.

This is the first time I've ever heard of people using LTC for anything, always assumed it was just a dying boomer shitcoin. Do you hold any cryptos for investment purposes or just buy it when you need to make payments?

>> No.49831216

>>49830968
I buy a bit when crypto drops for more than 2-3 days in a row.

I mainly buy ETH and BTC (35% each) with the rest evenly among alt coins - XRP, AVAX, LINK, ALGO and Polkadot. The rest and extra change goes to HBAR lol.

As for LTC I try to keep 500-1000USD in it and use it for payments. Also stablecoins - BUSD and USDC for exchange purposes.

In fact, I use anonymous (as well as it can be I guess) p2p exchange in Russia to buy stablecoins with RUB and then transfer those to Binance to buy crypto I want and transfer to my cold wallet.

>> No.49831310

>>49831216
Very interesting fren, I don't know anything about how crypto works in Russia. Are p2p exchanges the most common or do people use regulated exchanges where they KYC as well?

>> No.49831539

>>49831310
Well, most normies who svelte into crypto use Binance. With Vida and MC gone it’s harder to buy crypto, only Binance p2p works now.

But there are not of small shady non-KYC exchanges in Russia where you can either buy straight crypto or stablecoins on Etherium or BNB chains.

It’s all relative anyway, since in Russian with p2p exchanges you still kinda disclose some of your identity, because you use Russian central bank payment system, where in Russia you can send anyone from any Russian bank to another bank money instantly by either their phone number or bank cc number. Receiving party will see your first name, your bank and initials (not full last/middle name) you sent them funds from.

So it’s less personal data than Binance but still.

Bearish. Here's how Russians are using Crypto to bypass American sanctions. All the more reason to take it down.

Fuck, it’s 5AM and I am phone fagging half asleep. Sorry for shitty autocorrect.

Anyway, yeh, there are ton of non-KYC exchanges in Russia. Like hundreds or even thousands. Google bestexchange, it’s like exchanges aggregator that lists them all and their ratings and customer reviews.

Also it sucks that sanctions kinda fucked up our FinTech. EU and especially US banking and FinTech looks like ancient boomer circlejerk compared to Russia.

Read this - https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A1%D0%B8%D1%81%D1%82%D0%B5%D0%BC%D0%B0_%D0%B1%D1%8B%D1%81%D1%82%D1%80%D1%8B%D1%85_%D0%BF%D0%BB%D0%B0%D1%82%D0%B5%D0%B6%D0%B5%D0%B9

Use Google translate. In Russia you can send funds instantly or pay for shot with QR code with your phone with zero fees through SBP system.

Like Tinkoff bank I would say is the best retail virtual bank in the world. Too bad they will get ducked by sanctions sooner or later.

I knew China and Japan have been using similar systems for decades (with either QR codes or NFC), but I didn't know they were popular in Russia too. Somehow burger movies made me believe physical cash still was the norm in Russia and other slav states.

I haven’t used any cash for last 6 years other than to pay rent to my boomer landlord dodging taxes.

I heard Russia had biggest % of population using Apple Pay and Google Pay in the world, until sanctions clicked them.

Even smallest and shittiest mom and pops stores have NFC terminals for payments.

>> No.49832028

that's what I meant when I said Russia seems more advanced. The USA is very behind on this sort of thing. Most people still use plastic card or cash for transactions. Very very few amount of people use ApplePay or AndroidWallet. Even smaller amount of people use QR codes

>> No.49832099

>clicked
Cucked. Autocorrect. Now that they are gone, Android users just use native apps for Russian banks for NFC and Apple fags use QR, since Apple prohibits 3rd party nfc apps.

Or you can just use plastic cards which in Russia all have NFC in them.

I know a guy working at Apple in Russian branch office and he told me, Apple made more money from Apple Pay in Russia than their hardware sales on fees alone.

They were very unhappy with Visa and MC quitting blocking Russia from their network, since Apple uses them and them only.

Yea Amerifats do not use their phones for transactions at all yet, it's still all cash and credit card. Payment processors like Venmo are a thing but usually just for people to settle up personal debts between them. I actually think that crypto and biometrics will eventually change this in the West, since eventually you will just do everything from your phone and even generate your identification with your face rather than an ID card. All our dated transfer systems will be rendered obsolete.
