How do I put this all in gold? Do I have to buy actual gold? All 250g that costs more than my house? Or is it good enough to buy some gold based ETF or something like Aura Minerals?
Why not buy silver instead?

You are familiar with the phrase not your keys not your crypto well the same applies to gold. If you don't hold it you don't own it.
By all means put some money in miners, junior minors if you like risk, but a percentage should always be in physical assets.
Silver is more volatile but has more upside potential. Its a smaller market and central banks don't hold it. When it finally takes off its going but gold and silver are connected so you will see a similar increase in both.

>> No.49781566

>>49781419
Stocks is a bit different, because people have the right to demand their paper gold gets sent to them.
Most people already suspect that their paper gold doesn't even exist, because there's way more paper gold sold than there's real gold out there.
So if at any point there's a run on the stored gold for any reason, it's going to be massive as everyone tries to be the first one to get their gold out.
It's a recipe for disaster when things get uncertain so I'd be very careful buying paper gold.

>> No.49781711

>>49780992
Ideally you really want physical, if shit hits the fan all bets are off.
But if you're going to do this it has to be with a private party, not a bank.
Has to be allocated, legally owned by you, it should not be on their balance sheet and you'd just be paying them for storage.

Is there no webshop that ships to you?

>> No.49781799

>>49781711
Probably, but that makes it far more expensive.
What's wrong with keeping gold in the bank? Isn't it safer than paying some extra company for storage and slowly chipping off my capital?

250g of gold is roughly $15k USD, so I don't know what kind of house you're living in if that's more than your house is worth. I wouldn't buy gold ETFs, because that isn't real gold, its digits on a screen. I would buy physical gold, coins and bars, and stick to the best weight:price ratio, meaning nothing under 1oz and nothing with a numismatic premium added.
