I haven’t ate out for a few months but I spend about $200 on groceries $150 on gas monthly. $60 dollar phone bill and $500 car insurance every 6 months. Car is paid off, I live with my dad so no rent expense. I make about $5k a month but is there anyway I can save more money or should I just try and get a higher paying job. I also get $1500 a month in tax free disability plus free healthcare/medicine from the VA. (i’m sure if I reapplied I could get the max amount of disability which is $3500 a month plus dental and vision, but it would make me feel like a welfare leach so I don’t know)

I‘ve been very /frugal/ for the past 6 years. Here are my thoughts and things I do, it might help some of you dudes. It helps me saving 60% of my income despite having an absolute shit wage here in taxrapistan (Germany)

>small flat shared with gf
>embrace minimalism
>straight up steal groceries (weight and pay 3 bananas but take home 4.. it’s a victimless crime, call it personal inflationary adjustment)
>no car obviously, public transport only
>not regular public transport but the student version. You‘re not a student? Neither am I kek, just enroll in Uni. This way my transport comes out to 50€ a month which is alright here
>switch your electricity / internet / gas etc. provider every year. Saves you hundreds.
>drink tap water if it’s drinkable in your area. It’s the best thing for your body mind and soul, it’s almost free and you don‘t give in to the soda scam.
>cut your own hair, experiment or just buzz, either is fine for a man of confidence
>buy single razor blades instead of those Gillette bulshit scams. Also just buzz if you can rock a beard I guess
>if you need new cloths buy from Vinted, Ebay or similar, always negotiate.
>learn to cook, I haven’t eaten outside meals in more than 5 years and I’m fucking healthy
>do cardio, it’s free and important for your soul
>quick showers cold, it’s odd at first but starts to feel great after a few weeks. It saves money and improves health. Maximum 3 minutes, it’s cheaper and better for your skin
>use apps like to good to go and similar, you‘ll save a lot on groceries in the long run
>when commuting with public transport, use your time for Surveys on your phone. Call me insane but those dumb Surveys net me around 100€ a month. That’s twice my commute costs. I basically get paid to go somewhere instead of sinking hundreds and hundreds like most people.
>obviously no Netflix, use streaming sites for free. I‘d recommend one but these links are usually prohibited here
>books? Library

Here are some habits I picked up and kept during my NEET life, I work a wagie job right now and I manage to save about 2/3 of my below average pay thanks to it.

>no more sodas, soft drinks and alcohol
All you will drink is water from now on, preferably tap water, assuming you don't live in a third world shithole and tap water in your place is actually drinkable. If you are some dirty third worlder you'll have to buy your fucking water like the animal that you are, maybe try not shitting in the streets so much. If you really need a flavor in your drink get some tea or milk. You are not allowed to add anything, especially sugar is off limits fatass.

>no more restaurants or ordering food
You'll cook for yourself as much as possible, >>49777964 gives great advice and you should listen to all of that. I allow you to not make noodles from scratch as a time saver, but making them yourself would be way healthier.

>eat lots of fresh vegetabiles and fruits and be a based organ eater like >>49777879
all that stuff is cheaper and way more nutritious than the twenty kilos of deep frozen chicken tendies you eat every day, fatty.

>no monthly online subscriptions to Jewflix or any of that shit, no buying video games retard
If you absolutely need to play a video game/watch a series (you don't, but I guess you are an addicted consoomer) you of course pirate that shit, you'll learn how to if you are not retarded. Same goes for books, just go read the sticky on /lit/ and never pay for a book again, if you really need a physical copy of a book, buy it used or get a membership at your local library which are dirt cheap anyway, in my town it costs €15 for a year.
>inb4 I don't like reading
You do now, it's your new hobby, you should read more, especially if you don't want to dummy.

>don't have hobbies that need a ton of expensive equipment/memberships or entry fees.
For example a real expensive hobby would be skying or golfing. A cheap hobby would be running, you can run basically anywhere and all you need are some decent running shoes and some cheap sports wear. Also you can buy some dumbbells and maybe a pull-up bar (or use a tree branch) used very cheap and you can start doing a whole workout routine just with these two. Also I agree with >>49778555 on cardio, while muscle workout will give you a better physique, cardio will give you mental gains. It's hard to describe for me, just do cardio.

>Cut your own hair
"but anon I can't do that" just shave it to 1mm, no hair isn't why you can't get a gf, ugly. I saved hundreds of euros already, because I stopped falling for the, "that's € 20 plus tip", barber-jew. Seriously fuck barbers.

>Only have a car if you absolutely need one.
Cars are expensive as fuck, especially with the gas prices right now, but there is also repairs, insurance and of course the initial acquisition cost.
>inb4 muh car gives me muh freedom
Congratulations you fell for the marketing, also instead of a car you should walk or use a bicycle, because you will burn calories and we both know you badly need to lose a few hundred pounds, butterlord.

and finally if you want to buy some useless piece of shit, just ask yourself the flowing question "Do I really need it?" If you are being not a faggot and honest with yourself the answer will almost always be "No" and then ask yourself why you feel the need to buy useless shit. Being a Boomer-consoomer won't bring you happiness, just so you know. You'll keep buying shit to fill the void until you die angry and alone.

It's not that hard anon, just stop. I used to smoke cigarettes. Just don't buy it anymore. The moment you are about to buy it I want you to stop yourself and remind yourself that you actually want to stop. It will be a struggle for some time but eventually you will get over it.
