This is a major problem and could cause the value of Celsius tokens to plummet. If Celsius can't make interest payments on their own token, it's not clear how they will be able to keep up with demand from investors. This could lead to a mass sell-off of Celsius tokens, causing the price to crash.

There is no denying that the cryptocurrency market has seen a sharp decline in recent months. However, this does not mean that cryptocurrencies are crashing generally. In fact, many experts believe that the current slump is simply a correction after the massive gains seen in 2022. Cryptocurrencies still have a lot of potential and could rebound strongly in the coming months.

well APAC does pretty well right after the US fucks itself that hard, yes, comparatively speaking. did you miss the entire decade-long rise of alibaba, JD, SEA, etc.?
the reason emerging markets in particular get a bad wrap is because people think they can buy and hold without studying and it will pay off in the long run. this is not the case. this works with the S&P because the US manipulates its currency and that currency is global reserve currency. if you trade or invest in EM's a little more intelligently, you can do okay. it is quite hard though. i stick to bonds and i keep learning more all the time, and often the hard way.

It seems to me that EMs are emerging within the current global order, which is breaking down/morphing into something different.
China has horrible demographics and much of their economy is based on western consumption (what happens when the west collapses?) and the world's largest real estate bubble.
I just don't see how he thinks it's mainly just the US that gets screwed in what's coming. It's not like other fiat currencies are going to avoid collapse.

okay well he has admitted which parts he's been wrong about so there's that
in my view it should be to their benefit, not detriment, that the current order is slipping. the internet itself is fine, shipping itself is fine (its US ports that are fucked), and moreover all countries (china included, to your next point) are perfectly capable of consuming the goods they produce. exporting is not a requirement of a healthy economy. this increased production is great for them, the value of their currencies appreciates locally. this on its own is a good thing, but it also creates the same wiggle room to manipulate said currencies again in the domestic context, which gives them each a slice of the power that the US has over its own economy to direct things as they see fit.
the US is in a more precarious position than others because of the global reserves. the entire world is in a position to simultaneously repudiate UST's. there is no one else that vulnerable. like every empire in the past, people just realize they don't actually need that empire's dollars anymore, consumption does not have to come from abroad. the more the manipulation gets out of control domestically, the less purchasing power we have above and beyond taking care of our own needs in order to drive all that importing.
schiff is not the only person who explains this point of view btw

I'm skeptical of this point. That's an awfully big and complex switch to make.
How do you think CBDCs are going to affect the decline of the USD? They're obviously pushing for the current system to be replaced.

>> No.49762390

>>49762248
okay, but it's literally how the US got wealthy in the first place. first we fed and clothed ourselves, only after the wild wealth built up from 1870 to 1920 did we start doing the same for the rest of the world. our history is the example everyone else in the third world still wants to copy, but they don't want the freedom that enables it. that's why they keep fucking up.
i know nothing about the future of CBDCs but i do know the history of money: calling in a country's currency and issuing a new one that's got an extra zero on it isn't new. i think the fed will wait until they absolutely have to do this to make the switch. thus, the more ready they are with a digital currency, the more free they will feel to use QE and massively inflate M2. it won't matter if they can "correct" it at any time by turning your "paper system" $100's into digital-system $1's.

Well the US also benefited hugely from WW2. Not only was the developed world in massive debt to the US, but the US also had a completely intact manufacturing base in a time of very cheap and readily available oil.
They also had great demographics.
I'm not seeing these kind of golden age factors coming together anywhere else in the world today.
I get the feeling they want chaos that will provide them a justification for the switch. I don't understand the economic and monetary implications though, only the authoritarian 1984 ones.

Originally they did not give yields for holding CEL. Holding it and getting yields in it gave you a big bonus on the yield of your other tokens.
This made sense since you were locking up a fixed amount of CEL and not touching the yield generating part of the balance.
The obvious downside is this means there's absolutely no demand for CEL unless new accounts are being made that want the bonus yields. So the CEL token part of the deal always had ponzi economics but that wasn't driving the yield, it was just a bonus for those willing to risk it.
I think if they became compromised it was recently as rates of new registrations started dropping fast and they had to get "creative".

BTC is obsolete bullshit that is holding back DLT and tokenisation because of the retarded 'look its a private issue currency token' fud. BTC and its adherents can get fucked. Never buying it. In fact it and ETH another obsolete DTC should be blacklisted so the retarded BTC Maxis should see how much BTC is worth when they are the only ones buying and selling. The last time it did anything useful is when it bought a pizza it is only where it is because it was the original trading pair for gen 1 alts. It is no longer needed. It is a SHIT shopwindow for the DLT technology. Even fucking eth, also obsolete has at least smartcontracts.
